I purchased and utilized this service in December of 2012. Larry & Larry Junior, two extremely polite young gents, inspected my home (indoors and outdoors) for signs of rodent activity, potential entry points, etc. They set up several traps, and were very helpful in walking me through the reason for placements and safety for discarding the used traps/mice. They advised me of several potential access points, none of which could be sealed properly due to the cold weather, so it was agreed they would come back in the Spring, which they did when I called and asked them to do so. Meanwhile, the traps were all full within days, so we went ahead and replaced them ourselves, but never caught another mouse. It seemed to be under control, but we eventually heard occasional scurrying. Still, none of the new traps were triggered. I opted to wait until it was warm enough they could finish the job, and called back in March to fill them in on our situation. They laid new traps, sealed up a hole out back, and that was that. The new traps still never triggered, and we still hear the occasional mouse in the wall. I have since called them to come about bug intrusions. They had another big deal posted for it on the site, but I figured I would call and schedule something directly since they are a nice, family-owned company. I made a rough appointment (they were meant to call me on a certain date "around lunch time," once they were on their way out to my house, and I was going to leave work to meet them there) but I never heard from them again. I thought about calling them back, but figure it must be out of the way or something. We have had some success with our own insect control, but still haven't caught a mouse in any of our traps.

He returned sometime later with a proposal. His presentation was excellent. Most importantly to me, there were very specific requirements, something most contractors will not provide. My wife and I decided to hire him, although his bid was higher than other contractors we had contacted. I made it clear at the time that I have learned from sad experience that contractors cannot always be trusted to do a professional job. As a result, I insist on monitoring the work so I know first-hand that shoddy work has not been covered up. That has caused problems with a few contractors who expect to be trusted. I tell them that it is my house and my money, and I don't like to proceed on a basis of trust with workers I don't know. Terry stated that he had no problem with that.
At first, things went well as the siding was removed and the house was rewrapped. As the summer passed and the work progressed that situation degraded. Terry had indicated he had a professional crew of full-time workers with some part-timers doing some of the easier tasks. Generally, that was true but the workers were not well supervised, and mistakes were made by both the full and the part timers. John, who seemed to be the foreman of the project made mistakes ordering the windows, which resulted in a stoppage of work pending the exchange of windows. The workers moved to another project, which seemed reasonable, but they did not immediately return when the window exchange was made. A subcontractor, who was working on the roof and installing the windows, insisted on bringing his son, who was 10 or 12 years old, with him. It became a problem when he let his son work without supervision. The son worked without a drop cloth and got putty on the carpet. Both the sub and his son felt free to enter the house without knocking and to roam the house at will. There was a time when I caught the son handling personal items on the top of a dresser in a bedroom he had no business being in. This caused a dispute between the sub and me, which ended with the sub leaving the project.
When work resumed on the siding, the crew was not totally the same as the original one. Two or three of the crew were now quite unprofessional and seemed to feel that their work should not be criticized. That would have been fine with me if they had performed it well; but they did not. I noticed that some of the workers would make inaccurate cuts so that the siding panels did not fit together properly and then justify it by pointing out that it would be covered by other panels so it would not show. I told them that I expected work to be done properly whether or not it was visible at completion. After that, they began doing things, including minor vandalism, out of spite. They would lay the panels with the painted side up (I had chosen to have the siding factory painted because there is better quality control in a factory) when they were cutting them. Silica dust from the panels would then settle on the painted side reducing the glossy appearance of the siding. I told John that I did not find that acceptable, especially since the problem would go away if they cut with the painted side down. When the workers continued their improper cutting technique, I told them directly and I told Terry that the silica dust could not be removed and the panels would require repainting. Terry agreed to repaint the ruined sections of panel, and he did personally repaint much of the affected siding, including that which was visible. Delays for various reasons stretched the project from the estimated weeks to three months. It was, all in all, a very unpleasant experience that I hope never to repeat; however, Terry did all he reasonably could to keep the commitments of the contract. By job end most of the bad work had been redone and the house looks quite nice. It seems to be quite solid and much less drafty than it had prior to the work.
Terry told me recently that the workers who had caused the problems were no longer employed at Twin City Siding Professionals. I have no reason to doubt his word. As a result, I am having a difficult time assigning a grade for the overall experience. For me personally, it was a terrible experience. On the other hand, I don't know how much of the fault should lie with Terry and his company. It appears that some information that I had given to the project manager, John, had not been passed along to Terry. I suspect, and would certainly hope, that current clients would not be subjected to a similar experience. At the end of the project, my respect for Terry as a businessman and as an honest man were undiminished.

Not only was he able to locate and secure my IDEAL PROPERTY, he was with me every step of the way to assure I understood the processes and all of my options. He is knowledgeable of the properties in his markets, and real estate in general. Thanks to his expertise and diligence, we were always one step ahead. Here are some highlights of my experience... * Bill was willing to advise me through juggling multiple offers on multiple properties, which can get stressful. He maintained a can-do attitude while offering realistic expectations and solutions, meaning I never had any surprises thrown at me and ultimately was able to get exactly what I wanted from this experience. * The house I wound up buying was only on the public market for 2 business days before the listing closed due to an overwhelming response. We walked through the property mid-day on a Friday, and filed the winning-offer by 9:00 AM the following Monday. Had I hired a realtor that wasn't completely on top of my needs and my market, it easily would have slipped through the cracks. * The offer he compiled was done on extremely short notice and wound up being PERFECT. This property was bank-owned, and therefore priced to sell. The property was listed on a Thursday and they received so many offers for the listed asking price throughout the fist weekend that they stopped accepting offers at 9AM the following Monday. Thanks to his expertise, Bill advised I offer a price slightly higher than the listed asking price. It was a complete gamble, and couldn't have worked out better. Our offer was the third highest offer, but the only one adhering to the seller's terms/time-frame. If I had offered anything higher, I would have paid too much. Likewise, if I had offered anything lower we would have been overlooked. * Bill perpetually balanced optimism and practicality throughout this entire process, but especially when it came time to close. The closing date was changed four times on this purchase, shifting from Sept. 18th all the way to October 15th. All of these changes were due to changes/delays/errors on the sellers end, and therefore out of our control. As you can imagine, I had began preparing my life for a big move to happen at the end of September - which was not convenient when these delays began occurring. Bill was able to keep me calm and collected while advising what I could/could not or should/should not be doing to help prepare myself and my property. While it may have only existed to me, he provided a sense of progress where there was none. This facade of productivity kept me eager and hopeful during a process that was otherwise frustrating and stressful by nature. His patience and superior communication skills made all the difference! Work quality was poor. Several spots missed without finish on it. Chips in floor left and/orcreated by him. Many places where dirt or hairs were left and incorporated into the finish permanently. He told us afterwards we should fill holes ourselves, when key reason hired was to fix small holes (holes are supposed to be fixed before according to other professionals).
Also, he misled us on the amount of dust he would create. We had rooms with door shut that he filled with dust. Dust was on new bedspreads, books, etc. It was a huge mess. He had assured us there would be minimal dust andwehad agreed on what needed to be covered by us, and what he would cover himself. He later admitted he had problem with sander he used on steps where he lost control of dust flying.
We made the mistake of writing him the check (it was on a weekend) as when we looked at it from distance (couldn't walk on floor at that time) it looked ok and couldn't see mess and quality problems. I had told him he needed to hold check a couple of business days until we could move money to account.
After we were able to walk on floor next day we saw huge mess and quality problems. I called him first thing Moday morning and explained problems. He gave name of professional cleaners and agreed to pay fee. When we called them, they said he had called them about our situation. I told him because of problem we needed to wait to pay until agreed to resolution of the problem. Two different friends had used him, so I gave him choice of cancelling check or if he gave his word to hold check we could go that path. He gave me word he would hold check. I hung up and 30 minutes when I was checking bank account for another reason saw he had cashed check. He had gone to bank right after hung up with me. We called bank and they said he got cash, so we had no way to stop payment.
He then showed up at our house unexpectedly two days later when cleaning service was working and we were there to fix some holes. He fixed three of what turned out to be many more holes unfixed. I reminded him cleaning service was being billed to him. Now He said no. When we reminded him he agreed, he said "I didn't say those words, your husband did. I just said ahuh.".
In summary, quality was poor, he was dishonest and unprofessional. "We thought we had one or more bats. They thought we had mice, so they treated for mice. In addition to bait stations, they looked over the house and sealed all they could, though they had to come back 2-3 more times to continue checking and finding new holes to seal. We are still not sure we are rid of the mice that are in the house. We did recently find 2 dead mice outside the house. Hard to know."

FAQs for pest control projects in Mound, MN
Different pest control methods exist to help mitigate an infestation. Not every technique will work with every pest, which is why speaking with a pest control expert is crucial to taming your problem. Different methods of pest removal include:
The cost of pest control is $175 for the average homeowner. However, you could spend as little as $100 or as much as $500 or more, depending on the infestation size, the number of visits you need, and the pest you’re exterminating.
For example, if you need to rid your home of spiders, you’ll likely be spending between $100 and $300. However, if you have a termite problem, you can expect a bill of $230 to $2,500 or more, depending on the infestation size and damage caused.
There are specific methods for pest removal that you can DIY without hiring an expert. If you are preventing pests from making an appearance or clearing out a small infestation of harmless insects, you will likely have success on your own. However, if you’re dealing with pests that eat wood, bedbugs, or other pests that carry a disease risk, like rodents, it’s always worth it to call a pest professional to help you.
Even if you’re not immediately showing signs of pests, it’s a good idea to get into the habit of routine pest control. This should be done yearly, quarterly, bi-monthly, or monthly, depending on your location and if any signs of infestation are already present. For example, if you live by water, you might experience more pests in the spring and summer than someone who lives in a dry climate. Discuss treatment options with your pest professional to determine a suitable schedule for you and your home.
While not every infestation is preventable, there are some actions you can take to minimize the risk of running into these pests in your home. These actions include:
Keeping your home tidy. This includes vacuuming regularly, sanitizing your kitchen, storing food in airtight containers, disposing garbage regularly, and keeping your home clutter-free.
Deep clean at least twice a year. Deep cleaning neglected crevices and corners of your home can help prevent breeding grounds from forming.
Repairing your home when needed. If your home has cracks or holes, you have an open invitation for pests to come in. Remove any standing water and seal any gaps in your floors, walls, and foundation.
Cleaning up your yard. Keep shrubbery and branches well-trimmed and away from your home. Remove fallen leaves and other debris.
Be smart with storage. If you use firewood, store it away from the home (at least 20 feet away if possible) and off of the ground.
