"We had an amazing experience with Insulation inc! From the first point of contact with Carlos to the final installation with Tony, the team was professional, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable. They took the time to explain the best options for our home and were efficient in getting the job done at a great price. The quality of the insulation has already made a noticeable difference in the comfort of our home, and we’re so happy with the results. I highly recommend Insulation Inc for anyone looking to improve their home’s energy efficiency. They even helped with the rebate from our gas company. Thank you for a job well done!"

"They explained what they would do and how they would do it. They were very professional. Taped off the area they were working in so whole room didn't get insulation and dust all over. They were done before I expected it and cleaned up everything . Would use again and would recommend them to others."

"We went from 2-double hung windows down to 1 d-hung window. Of course the exterior stucco needed to be patched up. They also repaired down low around the front door area stucco. The job was done quickly and with high quality. Will hire these guys again, if needed."

"Had a great experience with Bruce and Shane. Highly communicative and clear - went above and beyond to check for siding issues around the entire exterior of the house after repairing the issue that we noticed. Would absolutely hire again."

"Wow!  We asked Scott for two bids:  one for the repair alone and a second for the repair plus a complete redash.  The bid for both was so compelling we couldn't pass it up.  Scott was very knowledgeable about what was needed to make the repairs.  Scott was on the job all three days of the job with the same crew.  They were incredibly professional, pleasant to deal with and most importantly did the most outstanding job.  They were extremely careful when putting up the scafolding, tarping large areas, and taping around windows, gutters, soffits, etc...  They cleaned up beautifully each day.  They were punctual and communicated effectively about what was needed from us and what they were doing.  It was a flawless experience and we are thrilled with how great the house looks.

Eifs Installers questions, answered by experts

The proper way to install a window well is to measure the window, dig a hole deeper and wider than the window, place a drainage tube and cap, anchor the well to the foundation, caulk the seam, and backfill the hole. The job requires tools such as a hammer drill and auger and some heavy digging. Proper placement and window well installation are critical to preventing water from leaking into the window.

Finding a reputable contractor for an egress window installation involves researching and vetting potential candidates. Start by searching for local professionals, reading customer reviews, and checking their websites for a portfolio of their work.

Once you have a shortlist, ask the following questions to ensure they are qualified:

• Are you licensed and insured?

• What experience do you have installing egress windows?

• Can you provide references from previous customers?

• Do you perform the work yourself or use subcontractors?

• What is the estimated project timeline and your current schedule?

• How do you handle payment?

Yes, you absolutely need a permit to add a window to your house. Your contractor can likely obtain this permit on your behalf. Ask about this when getting quotes from multiple window contractors.

Basements are generally required to have windows for your safety. At a minimum, windows should provide an egress in the event of a fire. But basement windows do more than offer a way out; basement windows also offer natural light and ventilation in an area of your home that is otherwise dark and musty.

There are a range of egress window types available, including:

  • Single-hung: $100–$400

  • Double-hung: $250–$500

  • Horizontal/sliding: $150–$800

  • Casement: $200–$500

  • In-swing: $350–$700

When choosing a type of egress window, consider how you’d like to open it. For example, double-hung egress windows open from top to bottom and let plenty of fresh air in, whereas sliding windows slide open for easy access.
