"Had the work done shortly after foot surgery. Crew seemed nice, but although i hobbled outside once or twice, I was not able to keep an eye on them. It was a really nice day and they must have been in an incredible hurry to get the job done and get out of there because: -they left my hose running on the far end of the house -they left a pile of insulation for me to pick up and hibble down to the garbage can at the opposite end of the house -they put nothing back so I with my surgical boot had to move three heavy garbage cans back onto concrete blocks by the house, reattach onehose cart and move off lawn and back in the concrete, and move the other hose cart that was left running back by the house once I picked up their insulation pile they forgot to pick up -they left the contents of my top shelf spread on my garage flowers or so I could not get my car back in the garage. Since I absolutely could not climb s ladder with the surgical boot, I had to call a family member to come from about 20 minutes away to help. Because they were clearly so rushed to leave the job, I was concerned that they may have rushed on the actual wall insulation; I was not confidant that sections of walls were not missed. We needed to wait about seven weeks for the outside temperature to lower so they could show me the walls and whether anything was missed. In the meantime, I had to move forward with my separate stucco patch and redash job with another contractor. This caused me seven weeks of concern and dangerous things to do for someone just out of surgery. For that reason, I honestly could not recommend. Intheend, they did insulate completely, but I did not know that for seven weeks. If we found they had missed some areas, they would have had to pay for stucco patch and redash; I would not have paid for rework of a job just completed."

"

This was a very good experience from the beginning.  My contact was always with Bill McClellan, who would always return phone calls timely.  I had some cracks in my garage stucco due to normal settling and wanted them patched. The estimate was the same as I'd gotten from another company, but Bill provided more detailed information about the repairs, and mentioned that one of the areas required new metal lath.  He also offered me an Angie's list discount.

The work crew did a great job. They used a drop cloth and tape around the service door.  The work was efficient, too.  I saw the truck, the work and clean up was done quickly, and suddenly the truck was gone.  I needed to have one additional patch done and, again, I looked out the window and saw that it had been completed (early on a Saturday morning).

I would not hesitate to use this company again.  I did meet Bill in person and he is a very easy person to work with, but also is professional.

"I found Lakewood’s Remodeling on Angie’s list and was definitely not disappointed with our choice. From the beginning of the process to the end Scott was readily available and patient in walking us through the process. Scott dealt directly with our insurance company taking that off our plate. I have already given out Lakewood’s information to a couple of people."

"Hiring Paul to correct errors created by another contractor on our deck was the best decision we ever made. Paul completely started over and fixed errors created by another contractor on a Trex â screwlessâ Deck, which was originally installed using screws. Paul inspected the project, gave a quote that satisfied our budget, and scheduled the work to accommodate a quick turnaround. Paul was such a joy to work with. He and his crew were always on-time, had positive, upbeat attitudes, and provided wonderful design ideas for the decking. Paul went above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied. We were so impressed with his work that we hired him to replace our sliding glass door also which turned about wonderful! We are thrilled to now have a contractor for all our needs! We highly recommend Paul! Scott & Kristine"

Eifs Installers questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can install a bay window in an existing house. You’ll need to have a structural engineer draw up plans to add the necessary support to your exterior load-bearing walls and a general contractor to make the changes to the framing around the new wall opening. This will cost an average of $3,000. After that work is done, a window installer can set the new bay window in place.

Yes, you absolutely need a permit to add a window to your house. Your contractor can likely obtain this permit on your behalf. Ask about this when getting quotes from multiple window contractors.

A good U-factor for windows is 0.30 or lower, but they can range from 0.20 to 1.20. A general rule of thumb when it comes to the U-factor is that the lower, the better.

Most modern egress windows installed in basements open outward into a window well, although some older homes have in-swing windows. Egress windows, like casement windows used in other parts of the home, such as bedrooms and bathrooms, may open inward, and these windows are often larger than outward-opening windows.

Costs depend on window size, type, material, and labor. Custom shapes or sizes typically incur higher expenses; full installation includes removing old windows.
