"Called Buric's because the furnace stopped working. The temperature outside was 18 degrees and the temperature of the house was dropping quickly.
I called the number in the listing and Nick returned my call promptly. Greg came in shortly after and found the issue. It was a frozen condensation line that drips outside. He installed heater tape on the copper tube and the condensation pump started to work again. Problem solved in one day.

"Furnace was not operating because the company's automatic delivery system ran me out of oil.
Technician showed up promptly and got the furnace operating but could not get heat into the house. Had to reschedule to have zone valves replaced. Technician show up late and didn't have the required parts. Had to reschedule again.
The third technician showed up on time with all the correct parts and worked most of the day to get the system operating properly.
He was completely knowledgeable and very conciencious that everything was working correctly.

"Was thoroughly impressed by H and F. I needed to replace an electric heat pump that was 30+ years old and on the verge of failing, and had a pretty good idea of what I wanted based on some research and quotes I had from other HVAC companies. Not only is H and F highly rated on this site, they also came in with lowest quote (and better warranties) for a 15 SEER Carrier with humidifier. Installation went smoothly, Michael and Dexter were consummate professionals and had my new system up and running in about five hours. I would highly recommend them to anyone in the North Virginia area. High quality and reasonable price. Will definitely use them for follow-on maintenance."

Install Boiler questions, answered by experts

Scale from hard water is hard to diagnose until it starts causing problems. If your area has particularly hard water, that’s most likely what your boiler is using. If scale build-up becomes a problem, it starts to cause decreased flow and heating, and eventually, valve failures as valves become blocked. Let boiler professionals know if you’re worried about scale and they can offer advice or implement a solution.

Probably not. Moving a boiler to a new location is a very different prospect from replacing it in the same spot, and significantly more expensive. Plus, boilers are typically carefully positioned in proximity to pipes and radiators when installed. Homeowners may want to move boilers to free up space, prevent freezing problems that have happened in winter, or solve a noise issue—but it’s a much more costly proposition.

An expansion tank must always be installed on the supply side, which is the side where the boiler sends water out to heat the systems. That placement allows the water to push against the air and condense properly as it is heated, then circulated through the system. Professional installers can recommend the best place on the supply side for an expansion tank.

To figure out if your boiler is worth repairing or if you need to replace your boiler, first figure out how old the unit is. Boilers last 15 to 20 years, so if your unit is 15 years old or older, it may be better to replace the entire thing depending on the severity of the problems. If it’s not quite that old, then it’s probably worth repairing. Another thing to consider is whether your warranty covers any of the repair costs. If so, it may be worthwhile to repair your boiler to keep it running.

Costs depend on system size, efficiency rating, and additional features like zoning or smart controls.
