Customers say: Quick response

"Marcin and team did a great job redoing the plumbing in my entire house. We also discovered cracks in our waste line and he replaced all of the original cast iron lines in the basement and coordinated with the contractor who replaced our exterior water and sewer lines unexpectedly. He was quick to respond to questions and requests, very reliable, and did a great job plumbing 2.5 bathrooms, laundry, and kitchen."

"Called them up for replacing my cracked sewage pipe in the basement. They came out, gave a free estimate with reasonable pricing and immediate availability. Did a courtesy camera scope of the entire sewage pipe out to the city line while the pipes were open. Finished work within estimated window and charged at the original estimated price. Polite and clear with communication."

"Bob Pino did an excellent job on multiple handyman tasks in my home. He responded quickly, was very knowledgeable, thorough, professional and skilled in the work done. He completed smaller tasks and efficiently repaired an entryway ceiling, with a second person assisting to get it done quickly. His workmanship was skilled and he did a great job with numerous small repairs, installed an under cabinet TV and patiently explained pros and cons of different repair options. I recommend him highly."

Customers say: True professional

"Jeff did thorough and timely job on my mother’s condo (new kitchen flooring, cabinets, and counters along with a couple other minor updates). He managed to complete the project on time despite issues with the building plumbing that had to be resolved first and coronavirus! Work was high quality and cleanup was through at the end of the project."

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

Older homes in Marblehead feature irregular floor plans and shallow crawl spaces, making plumbing work labor-intensive. If your property sits in the historic district, you face restrictions on exterior vent modifications. Additionally, the rocky coastal terrain contains granite ledge, complicating excavation for new drain lines. Inspect your home for retrofitted pipes and tight access areas to understand the scope of your project.

Helpful?

In MA, functional plumbing requires permits and a licensed professional to ensure safety and compliance. Cosmetic changes, like swapping a faucet, fall outside these strict rules. However, local historic districts mandate reviews for visible exterior alterations, even cosmetic ones. Always inspect cosmetic issues like fixture stains thoroughly, as they hide severe functional problems like corroded pipes in older historic homes.

Helpful?

Prepare for winter weather in Marblehead by stocking pipe insulation and heat tape to protect exposed plumbing from freezing. You must know the exact location of your main water shut-off and keep a curb key on hand for basement or crawl space access. Keep basic drain clearing tools ready for root intrusions. Add moisture detection devices to spot hidden leaks behind older plaster walls.

Helpful?

In MA, coastal salt air accelerates corrosion on water heaters and exposed plumbing components. You must monitor older galvanized steel or lead supply lines, which degrade over time. Tree roots invade aging sewer laterals, requiring prompt attention. Exterior hose bibs and uninsulated pipes are highly susceptible to freeze damage. Check your original fixture shut-off valves, as these seize and fail during repairs.

Helpful?

Intense freeze-thaw cycles in Marblehead cause burst pipes in uninsulated areas during the winter. Coastal salt air accelerates corrosion on metal fittings and exterior fixtures. Nor'easters and storm surges create severe flooding risks, making backflow prevention and sump pumps essential for basement plumbing. Schedule your non-emergency projects during the summer, as local professionals experience peak demand during the fall and spring seasons.
