Small jobs welcome

ReSupply is a Veteran-founded organization that partners with nonprofits across the country to provide convenient, affordable, full-service donation pickups for their donors. We pick up when nonprofits can't. We offer professional junk removal and donation pickups within 24-48 hours, will pick up all items in any condition from anywhere in your home, and deliver them to a local partnered nonprofit to benefit their mission and be reused. If an item cannot be accepted at a charity, we'll take it to another, and then another. If your items are not able to be accepted by any charities near you, we'll take them to a recycling facility, ensuring you don't need to schedule a separate waste removal service. To date, because of generous donors, ReSupply has kept over 36 million pounds out of our landfills and brought over $40 million in resources to our nonprofit partners. It's giving made simple.

"My experience with Trash It Junk Removal was fantastic! Lenny scheduled my appointment within a few days of my purchasing their special on Angie's list. He showed up exactly on time (even a few minutes early). Working with his partner Andy they got all of the funky stuff out of my basement and my garage. They took everything, even the items I was a tad embarrassed about (like moldy computer boxes from 2005). They lugged my circular saw up to the garage to cut 12-foot lengths of wood into shorter, truck-friendly sizes and they broke down all the boxes, cheerfully refusing my offers to help. At the last minute, they managed to fit a surprise "bonus" piece of bulky furniture into the trailer. And they were fast! The whole thing took under an hour. Better yet, the stuff they collect doesn't just hit a land-fill. It is taken to a facility where all of the pieces are sorted and recycled. I highly recommend Trash It Junk Removal. They're friendly, punctual and they are quick. Even without an Angie's list special, their regular rate is a bargain for getting that volume of junk out of the house. Call them - you won't regret it!"

Garbage Collection questions, answered by experts

The two main negatives of garbage disposals are they are a safety hazard in homes with children, and they frequently encounter blockage issues. While they might be annoying to fix and monitor, garbage disposals can significantly lower your trash use and are a great way to dispose of organic waste. While there are negatives, the vast majority of homeowners acknowledge the positives are enough to install a disposal in their home.

Garbage disposals are durable appliances that usually last at least eight years as long as you clean and maintain them. It’s relatively rare for a garbage disposal to break on its own, as most malfunctions happen due to user errors, like overstuffing the grinding compartment or damaging the blades by trying to dispose of metal or bone. Eventually, cracks or leaks could develop in the unit, which requires a full replacement.

To prevent drain clogs, perform regular maintenance and cleaning. Avoid disposing of substances like grease or coffee grounds down the sink. Additionally, installing and routinely using drain strainers can help catch debris and prevent blockages from forming.

The main issue with garbage disposals is clogging. This can mean a clogging of the pipes that expel the food along with water, or a clogging of the mechanical parts themselves. The problem lies in the solution because you can’t easily see clogs if they’re inside the system, and reaching in to dislodge stuck items is a risky proposal. Call a pro and ask what they would do, but if you can’t see the clog easily, and running the unit won’t free it, you need to let a professional handle the fix.

Never put glass in the garbage disposal. It can damage your disposal or eject shards of glass out of the disposal and cause injury. If you get broken glass in your garbage disposal, turn it off and cut the power from the breaker, use a tool like pliers or tongs to remove the glass, and use a wet-dry vacuum to remove the remaining glass pieces. If you can’t access the disposal safely, call a garbage disposal repair pro.
