"They did an excellent job preparing our site to build an equipment shed. They had to clear many trees and the site was beautiful when they finished, perfectly level to build our shed. They finished in just a couple days, we were so happy with their work. We will hire them again when we build our house, for the excavation and septic system. Give them a call!!"

We repair or replace sewer and water lines, water heaters, toilets, faucet, outside faucets, dishwashers, garbage disposals, leaking pipes and those old leaky cast iron pipes in your basement. When you are ready to build that addition or new dream home, we are state certified and can procure all necessary permits and inspections required by the state. Our list of services goes on and on. \nI (Matt Cecil) started Advanced Plumbing, LLC out of a necessity for knowledgeable, dependable plumbers. Born and raised in Louisville, I am owner/operated, not a huge corporation and with over 26 years in the plumbing trade, I have the knowledge to complete "any and every" plumbing issue that may arise in your home or business. \n\nMany service technicians that come to your home are not licensed plumbers and most are paid on commission. My plumbers and I are fully licensed Journeyman and Master plumbers and we never pay by commission, this means you can rest assured that we will never sell you a product or service unless we feel it is required.\n\n

"The technician emptied the freezer, which was in the basement, to work on the part that needed repair. Then he neglected to put anything back into the freezer, including a turkey I had bought for Christmas and a rack of ribs. Two days after he left, I went out of town for two weeks. The turkey actually exploded and spewed its liquid all over everything, which had to be discarded. I let AHS know and they couldn't even bother to call me or follow up on this. I'm considering not renewing my contract with them because of the quality (or lack thereof) of many of the providers they send."

Septic Tanks FAQs, answered by experts

The best times of year to empty or pump a septic tank are spring and fall. Many professionals recommend spring because the ground has thawed, making the tank easier to access and the waste less likely to be frozen. Pumping before summer also helps avoid conflicts with vacations or outdoor gatherings. Fall is another great option, as contractors may be less busy, and servicing the tank can reduce the risk of overflow from winter and spring precipitation. While summer is also a suitable time, winter is generally not recommended due to frozen ground.

Although air in your water lines won’t affect the overall quality of your water, it will lead to problems with your well water system if not addressed. Over time, too much air in your water lines can create blockages in your pipes, cause insufficient water flow to your taps and appliances, loosen pipes, and potentially damage important components of your well including your well pump and pressure tank.

Concrete septic tank risers are heavier and more durable than plastic or fiberglass ones, making them suitable for long-term use. Installing a concrete riser differs from installing plastic or fiberglass risers primarily in the materials and methods used. The process involves cutting the concrete risers to the required length and then stacking them, using concrete sealant or adhesive between sections for secure attachment. Due to their weight, extra care is necessary during leveling and the attachment of sections. Concrete sealant or adhesive may also require a curing before the riser is ready for use.

Yes, a septic tank riser can replace a concrete septic tank lid. Risers are designed to replace various types of septic tank covers, including concrete, metal, and fiberglass, to provide easier access for pumping and repairs. While a plastic riser makes future access more convenient, the initial replacement can be difficult because concrete lids are very heavy, so it is a job best left to professionals. Once installed, you will need to be cautious around the riser during yard work, such as mowing, to avoid causing damage.

While dry wells can be effective for managing rainwater, they have several disadvantages. They can become clogged with sediment, especially after large storms, which reduces their effectiveness and can be difficult to clean. Dry wells are also not suitable for all soil types; they will not function properly in soil with low permeability. Additionally, if a dry well is not large enough to handle the amount of rainfall in your area, it can overflow. For gravity-flow models, the water may disperse very slowly, depending on the well's depth and the soil's permeability.
