"After looking at the drain the Tech said I have some bad news and some good news. He said it cost $315.00. I said $315 for a kitchen sink!!!! I told him I have a coupon $89.00. I paid $217. That company is a rip off. Did you know they raise the price. I didn't save anything with that company. Will never use them again."

"Great. We had a new sump pump installed a few weeks ago and the company who did it thought our exterior drain might be clogged, but they did not do this type of work. I called Plumbing, Heating Paramedics and was able to schedule a time a few days later. The service team member was friendly, professional, he wore a mask and booties. He was able to verify the drain was clear. Minor issues he did not get the cover on the drain in the lawn on all the way and he did leave a booties on the porch, but just small oversights."

"Nice and courteous man. Confirmed about another problem I have that needs a plumber. So I appreciated that. The reason for the 2.5 stars was the price. 180.00 for 45 minutes, tops, to snake the drain is excessive in my opinion. That was with a 50.00 off online coupon from the company- supposedly. I found the coupon myself and doubt I would have been told about it otherwise. 180.00 minus the coupon would have been more reasonable."

"IMPRESSIVE!  Steve and his crew of 6 or 7 (I couldn't get an accurate count because they never stopped moving) arrived about 7:45 AM and hit the ground running.  The entire operation reminded me of military maneuvers.  They were finished and pulling out at 2 PM.
Old splash blocks and downspout elbows were removed and trenching around utilities was dug carefully with spades.  A gas-powered trencher dug the two main trenches on each side of the house while the trench for the extension of the deck drain was dug manually.  Pipes were installed and trenches re-filled with tamping at several intervals.

A dump truck load of topsoil was dumped on the street and transferred to wheelbarrows by a Bobcat with a front-end loader.  Topsoil was delivered to the lawn by wheelbarrow and graded perfectly.  Grass seed and starter fertilizer was applied and straw mats stapled in place.  Cleanup was impeccable.
This is a first-rate contractor you should always consider for drainage issues, lawn seeding and grading.  From the first visit to scope out the project to the final watering and maintenance instructions and a couple of follow-up questions from me, Steve's communications were professional, thorough and clear.  Proof of insurance arrived from the agent the same day as the bid ... I only had to ask once.
Before and after pictures may tell the story best and they are attached."

Drain Pipe Installation questions, answered by experts

Snakes can occasionally enter homes through shower drains, although it’s quite rare. This can happen when they follow sewer pipes or accidentally find their way into plumbing systems. To minimize the risk, consider installing drain covers or stoppers on your shower drains. Always keep drains closed when they’re not in use, especially in areas where snakes are known to be active.

Yes, drains are one common entry point for water bugs. However, water bugs may enter your home through various locations including doors, windows, pipes, and vents. Water bugs are drawn to the dark and moist atmosphere drains provide, and can easily find their way into your home through sewer drain pipes. You can stop water bugs from entering through drains by regularly cleaning your drains and repairing faulty drainage systems.

The P-trap (or S-trap in older homes) under your shower is designed to prevent sewer gas from coming back up, so you shouldn’t normally experience foul odors coming from your shower drain. If you do, the vent stack that introduces air into your plumbing system may be clogged, or you may have a more severe sewer main blockage. In either case, hire a plumber to fix the issue for you.

Baking soda and vinegar aren’t just great for making a volcano for your kid’s science project. You can also pour this dynamic duo down your shower drain to dissolve hair clogs. If that doesn’t do the trick, you can step it up with a commercial liquid drain cleaner.

You can try several easy methods to unclog a drain, one of the easiest and most effective of which is to use a mixture of baking soda and vinegar. This will help dislodge and dissolve the clog to move it down the drain pipes. Pour 1/2 cup baking soda into the drain, followed by 1/2 cup of white vinegar. Dump several cups of boiling water (or hot water if you have PVC pipes) into the drain and let sit for up to one hour. Run hot water to clear the drain.
