"They did a really good job. They were very professional, knew their business well, and always left the work area clean when they were done. I had a multitude of problems with my fireplaces and chimneys and they addressed everything. I had talked to other companies, but they were the most candid about what needed to be done, and they didn't try to sell me anything that I did not need. I would highly recommend their work."

"They did a nice job. I signed up for their fall chimney sweep coupon. They sent out two guys who were knowledgeable and polite. They inspected the chimney, cleaned it out and sealed the cap in under an hour."

"Chris the owner came to my house for the estimate. He knew as soon as he walked up my driveway what the problem was with my chimney and asked to see my crawlspace and where my furnace and hot water heater were. Apparently when my hot water heater was installed instead of connecting the pipe into the chimney liner from the furnace it was just going into the chimney and the warm air was causing condensation and the deterioration of my chimney. He was the only person we got an estimate from who figured this out; everyone else wanted to do "band aid" solutions like applying waterproofing materials to the chimney. Scheduling the work was a little tricky because of the harsh winter and the snow on everyone's roofs, but I felt we got scheduled in a very timely manner. The guys who came and did the work were professional and now we know our chimney and the liner are as they should be.

"We purchased our house in 2012 and hired Nyberg Exteriors to replace the roof. The work came with a guarantee against leaks for 7 years. Over the next few months we suspected that there was a leak into our unfinished attic around the chimney because of color changes in the surrounding wood and on the floor, but could never find the area actually wet. It was also difficult to be sure because the area was already stained from before we bought the house, so we knew it had leaked at some point, and we just assumed that the new roof would fix the problem if it was still currently leaking. However, a couple of weeks ago (in March 2014) we finally found moisture in that area and I emailed Stuart Nyberg who had been in charge of our project. It was a Saturday but I didn't expect him to even read the email until Monday. Not an hour later I got a call -- it was him, outside our house, looking at the chimney from the outside and wondering if he could take a look in the attic!
He determined that the problem was that our cinderblock chimney was porous and moisture was gradually seeping in that way. This didn't fall under the guarantee and we would have gladly paid him to fix it, but he offered to come out and seal it for free. We're not sure when the work was done, but yesterday we noticed that the chimney has a fresh layer of sealant on it, and I imagine this will fix the problem. I was already so satisfied with the work this company did on our roof, and their price, but this just went above and beyond.
Highly recommended!

"Called them to clean and inspect fireplace chimney. Frankie went up on the roof while his assistant cleaned from inside. Frankie took digital photo of crown to show me where it needed repair. Also noticed that the existing cap did not fit tightly and we have had raccoons on our roof. When he inspected the firebox he noticed a hole just above the damper, which he recommended repair because of fire hazard. The whole job took about 45 minutes."

"They did a great job. They solved all the problems I had with the chimney and it’s been working perfectly ever since. They also fixed a problem on the roof around the chimney; they replaced the wood around the chimney with a material that would never rot, so they fixed it even better than it was before. It took them a couple of days to do the work. They took care of all the cleanup as well. We've been real happy with them."

Chimney caps may be installed by a few different professionals, including a chimney sweep or a mason that specializes in fireplaces and chimneys. A gas fireplace technician is the best person to install a chimney cap on a gas log fireplace vent to be sure the cap is appropriate for the application.
A chimney cap costs about $300 on average. The prices range from about $75 to $1,000, depending on the material, size, any repairs needed, and if your chimney cap requires custom fabrication. Chimney caps are usually made from galvanized steel, copper, or stainless steel. Additional costs may include hiring a chimney sweep to clean the chimney before a cap is installed.
Yes, it’s worth capping a chimney. Here are several reasons to install a chimney cap:
Keep out rain, snow, wildlife, and other debris
Help prevent chimney fires
Reduce your chimney’s exposure to moisture
Maintain your chimney flue liner
Help reduce energy bills by helping regulate your home’s temperature
Typically, a chimney cap will last from three to 25 years. This wide range is due to variables like climate, the material the cap is made from, and how often you use your fireplace. Regular inspections and maintenance can help extend the life of your chimney cap.
The best style of chimney cap for a brick chimney is one that fits tightly around the brick top of the chimney. The cap should have a screen to fully enclose it to keep animals out. The best materials include stainless steel, copper, or aluminum that fit tightly or are custom fabricated for a perfect fit on your chimney.
