"The project went smoothly. I had a short window in which to work as the furniture on our 1st floor was removed for another project. I set up interviews with a number of companies, received estimates, and Mike's worked out the best. They were honest about how the project saying that some old stains on the floors might not sand out; the stairs treads and risers would need to be sanded by hand, therefore would cost a bit more; and the wood used to patch would not exactly match due to age. All of this I understood since the floors were over 100 years old. They had their staff on site early on the day they said they'd start. They worked as quickly as the weather would allow and the project was completed within the time they expected. Its been almost two years and the floors still look great. I waited a while to make this review in order to see if the work would hold up and it still looks nice. Now I'm hoping for another big project in which the furniture on our 2nd floor will be removed so they can do those floors."

"They did an excellent job. Daniel showed us some samples of water based floor finishing as opposed to oil based. He described the process and suggested how long it would take and the precautions to give the best end results. The men who sanded, vaeuumed, and applied the finish were professional and did great work each day. The removal and replacement of furniture went very well too. Nothing was broken or scratched. "After checking the reviews of several flooring contractors, I decided that Jerry's would provide the best outcome for my flooring remodel project. I was absolutely right. He came out to measure my floors and gave me a quote that was right in the same range as the other quotes I received. However, the others didn't claim to be dust-free. I was also getting my walls and ceilings repainted in the same rooms, and Jerry was able to schedule his crew the very next day after the painters were done in order to keep the project moving along. He came in, took out the old carpet, leveled the floors from all the old staples, and then installed the oak flooring. He and his partner sanded the entire floor, filled in the cracks, and in the end was a smooth and level as it could be. And absolutely no dust! Jerry uses a cyclone-style dust separator on his sanding equipment that captures everything that the machine puts out. Backed with a smaller sander for the edges of the room that uses a HEPA filter, you simply don't generate any dust at all. Because I had hardwood in adjacent rooms, we needed to match the stain to the existing floors. At first we didn't seem to be on the same page, but after trying a mixture of 50% one stain and 50% another, we came up with a perfect match! In fact, people remark how close the two woods appear now that the new floor is installed. (And the old wood is 20 years old!) Jerry completed the work by applying three coats of sealer, and replacing all the heavy furniture that had to be out of the room. Great job!"

Andrei replaced cracked or damaged maple boards, sanded the floor so the entire floor was level and sealed it with water-base sealer with a beautiful matted finish. It looks great. The remainder of the home has the original stained oak floors. Through the years many boards cracked & become unstable. He patiently removed the damaged boards, replaced the oak boards, sanded the boards to the same level as the existing flooring. He mixed the stain to match the existing floor stain color and urethane entire floor. The floor is now uniform in color, the patch repairs are not visibly different to the existing flooring when walking into the rooms. I am so pleased of the work performed and Andrei took his time to do it the right way and listened to what we wanted done."

We have used Exposition Carpet for several carpet installations over many years in our finished basement, and have consistently found the best pricing, ease of schedule and quality installation thru them. I especially like that it's a family business and you are dealing directly with owners and not with a salesman that doesn't even know who his/her boss is. The installers have worked their for years and that says a lot.

After going through a back porch remodel enclosing to a mudroom, we wanted a pet friendly, water resistant and durable floor so we went with vinyl plank. The store had many options, and time frame to get material was within a week. We checked out a 'sale' prior at a trendy well known Lincoln Avenue store, only to be met with double the cost and attitude. So we ended up back at Exposition and it was a done deal within 2 weeks.
