We wanted to remove the tile, level the entire floor, and have hard wood flooring throughout the room. After getting proposals from all 3 providers, we decided to have Modern Quality Flooring refinish our kitchen floors based on the owner, Danny's, professionalism and experience. Work was scheduled and began and ended on time with no negative surprises. On the positive side, Danny's workers diligently sanded the floor with dust free sanders and covered everything in plastic leaving no cleanup for me after completion - either in the kitchen or elsewhere in the house. "After checking the reviews of several flooring contractors, I decided that Jerry's would provide the best outcome for my flooring remodel project. I was absolutely right. He came out to measure my floors and gave me a quote that was right in the same range as the other quotes I received. However, the others didn't claim to be dust-free. I was also getting my walls and ceilings repainted in the same rooms, and Jerry was able to schedule his crew the very next day after the painters were done in order to keep the project moving along. He came in, took out the old carpet, leveled the floors from all the old staples, and then installed the oak flooring. He and his partner sanded the entire floor, filled in the cracks, and in the end was a smooth and level as it could be. And absolutely no dust! Jerry uses a cyclone-style dust separator on his sanding equipment that captures everything that the machine puts out. Backed with a smaller sander for the edges of the room that uses a HEPA filter, you simply don't generate any dust at all. Because I had hardwood in adjacent rooms, we needed to match the stain to the existing floors. At first we didn't seem to be on the same page, but after trying a mixture of 50% one stain and 50% another, we came up with a perfect match! In fact, people remark how close the two woods appear now that the new floor is installed. (And the old wood is 20 years old!) Jerry completed the work by applying three coats of sealer, and replacing all the heavy furniture that had to be out of the room. Great job!"

Andrei replaced cracked or damaged maple boards, sanded the floor so the entire floor was level and sealed it with water-base sealer with a beautiful matted finish. It looks great. The remainder of the home has the original stained oak floors. Through the years many boards cracked & become unstable. He patiently removed the damaged boards, replaced the oak boards, sanded the boards to the same level as the existing flooring. He mixed the stain to match the existing floor stain color and urethane entire floor. The floor is now uniform in color, the patch repairs are not visibly different to the existing flooring when walking into the rooms. I am so pleased of the work performed and Andrei took his time to do it the right way and listened to what we wanted done."

"To start, I want to let you know that I haven't worked with a better contractor than Adrian. He is upfront, communicates very well and makes conservative assumptions so there are no surprises. Even after the job was completed, he came back to fix other contractor's mistakes with no charges. Expensive but well worth the cost. We had damage in one bedroom on 2nd floor and front entryway from Ice Dam leakage into house from roof. Damage looked contained but because we have continuous wood floors on both levels, I was told by several contractors that complete floor on both levels would need to be sanded and refinished. Adrian responded very quickly to my call but indicated that if I needed to get the job done quickly, we should pass on his company since they were backlogged. I had read his reviews and they were uniformly great compared to others so I requested he come out and prepare a bid. He was very knowledgeable and explained the issues well and how they would go the job and recommended using a Bona Hardwood Water sealer vs an oil sealant and why. His bid was about 40% more expensive than the two other vendors I had asked for bids from but he did not request any money up front and he guaranteed 100% satisfaction with no caveats on chatter marks, waves, swirl marks, etc. The other 2 vendors said they couldn't guarantee against chatter or swirl marks and wanted 50 - 60% as a deposit and further deposits as work progressed with only 10% withheld for final completion. The time Adrian estimated was about twice the length of time that the other vendors estimated and he explained that with the amount of work and all the labor issues associated with the pandemic he couldn't promise to get it done faster. All the vendors I spoke with said it was a big job and if we could live with it and get the insurance company to pay for it later, we would be better off covering up damaged areas and repairing floors once we move out of house to sell it. Unfortunately insurance would only pay depreciated value of floors if we wanted to wait while they would cover 100% if we did the repairs within the year. The earliest day to get it repaired was about 6 months later or the next would have been 9 months later. We chose to get it done at the start of October. Adrian told us we would need to be out of house for about a month but he moved up timeline after a week to say he would get it done in 3 weeks. After we got our painters to agree to move up their timeline and only 3-4 days after he said he would be complete in 3 weeks, he completed job in a little over 2 weeks. Unfortunately we couldn't move up painters. If there was any quibble it would be with the fact that having a better timeline would have allowed us to be out of our house for less than the 6 weeks it eventually took. However it didn't take any longer which is what our insurance company told us to expect. After job was finished, Adrian told us to be careful for first several weeks using just socks in the house and using masonite to protect floors anytime we were moving things or placing things down. When I mentioned moving company personnel had said their masonite was all scratched up, he went and bought several sheets for me to provide movers. We noticed some issues with smoothness of the floors on the steps after a week and he agreed that it was not up to standards and he came and worked over weekend to fix stairs so we could have painters start on time. About 3 weeks after we moved back in we had HVAC vent cleaners in to clean vents as we had heard that it was typically needed - the HVAC guys said our vents were just normal for 20 years of not cleaning and very little caused by the sanding. However the HVAC guys dropped a vent cover gouging the floor in the main level. We called Adrian thinking it would be a big job to fix, he was able to patch with some wax (for free) and said they could replace board and do another coat of sealant if the HVAC insurance would pay for it otherwise he recommended we live with it since life happens."
