"I worked with Dan of Zandstra Masonry on a brick mailbox project and he was professional throughout the entire project. The work was outstanding and most of our neighbors are considering doing the same thing. Fairly priced and completed within promised time frame. The premise for painting a brick building is fairly simple: Prime the bricks to seal the surface and apply the top coat to protect your brick home. Mortar and thinset both serve the same purpose—tile adhesion—but have different compositions and use-cases. Thinset is heatproof and presents a wide range of possibilities due to the added polymers. When painting brick, each application method has pros and cons. Spraying is much faster but may not penetrate the porous surface of the bricks.
