"SSE installed outdoor electric to my shed and new swimming pool. They also wired and connected a pool heater. The quality of work exceeded expectations and more important the customer service and flexibility was great. The permit was delayed and I had to reschedule install dates multiple times The owner of SSE understood and repeatedly told me he â had my backâ and would make sure he could meet the date and permit / city requirements. The job was done on time and within budget. SSE has a new customer for life. I have already scheduled my next job with the company."

"Justen did everything that was asked and even took care of fixing our door bell. He swapped out a light fixture, a chandelier, and ran new electrical to install a brand new ceiling fan. He kept the work areas clean and had fair pricing. I would hire him again in the future for any electrical projects."

Small jobs welcome

"I am very impressed with Neal of Parker Electric for his communication skill, speaking clearly what the project will be in writing. His employees Wade an Ryan installed lights an fan in my family room. Both these workers have great communication skills. They worked very professionally in installation, starting with moving, covering furnitureâ s without grumble. Ryan let me know every step of the job and worked on it only after my approval. They finished the job to my full satisfaction. What I liked most was how professionally they clean up the debris, they left the house with spik and span, and of course with beautiful lights and fan on my high ceilings. I recommend Parker Elctric for electric work. As for me, I will always come back to Neal for any electric work."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can put a GFCI outlet in almost any electrical outlet location. As long as the outlet is wired correctly back to a circuit breaker, you can likely replace the existing outlet with a GFCI outlet.

There are several reasons why an electrical outlet would suddenly stop working, including:

  • Broken parts in the outlet

  • Outlet burnout

  • Circuit breaker tripped

  • Damaged circuit breaker

  • GFCI outlet tripped

  • Damaged or loose wires

  • Failed connectors

  • Appliance failure

While it’s not mandatory unless you’re purchasing a home, it is important to schedule regular home electrical inspections for safety and to maintain your house’s value. Inspections can reduce fire risk and can help save money on insurance premiums. They can also catch problems before they start, saving money on repairs down the line.

When removing an old security alarm system, you likely won't need to remove any of the wiring. Wiring can either be left in place for a replacement system or capped off for safety and pushed into the wall. If you're uncomfortable with the wiring, or if it's badly damaged, contact a professional electrician for assistance with safe removal.

No. Blue wires and black wires are different. Even though both are used as hot wires, they serve different functions. Black wires are far more common in residential properties. They are always hot, can be positive or negative, and usually carry electricity from a power source to an outlet. Blue wires have a specialized usage in residential properties, generally as traveler wires, and are more common in commercial properties.
