"PERFECT / KNOWLEDGEABLE / EFFICIENT / HONEST would be the words I would use to describe LSVG Electrics. I had a circuit in the kitchen that was not getting any power even though the breaker in the main panel wasn't tripped so randomly picked LSVG Electrics for their assistance. Lou came out exactly at the time he said he would and quickly diagnosed the problem to be a burnt wire in a J-box in the basement and repaired it. If you are looking for an electrician that you can have confidence in ... please call LSVG Electrics ... because they know their stuff. I've only called electricians on a handful of occasions but LSVG electrics certainly was the BEST!!! and will use them for any other electrical issues I might encounter ... Regards, Keith K Algonquin IL"

"I hired Randy to install an EV charger and ended up having him take care of a few additional small projects as well. He did excellent work, was easy to work with, and charged a very reasonable price. I’ll definitely be using him again in the future and highly recommend him."

Rewiring an electric system in a house typically ranges between $2,000 and $9,000, but a simple project can cost as low as $1,500. More complex upgrades run $10,000 or higher. The price depends on the size of your home, how accessible the wiring is, the cost of materials, and local electrician fees.

To determine if an electrical outlet is blown, look for visible signs of damage such as a burning or smoky smell, burn marks, or a melted or discolored plastic cover. If you notice a burning smell, contact an electrician immediately. Other signs include a plug that keeps falling out or the outlet not working when you test it with different devices. For further troubleshooting, you can use a voltage tester or multimeter to check for power; a reading of zero indicates a problem. Also, check your circuit breaker or fuse box to see if the circuit was tripped and reset it if necessary. If these steps don't resolve the issue, the outlet may need to be replaced.

If you need to visually inspect your Christmas lights to determine which are good and which need replacement, there are a few things to look for. First, look for discoloration, such as a dark spot or two on the inside of the glass. The spot is an indication of a burnt filament. Also, look for missing filaments, cracked bulb glass, and broken sockets.

Durations range from an hour for simple jobs to full workdays for significant upgrades.

Yes, hot tubs can use a significant amount of electricity, primarily to keep the water heated. A typical hot tub uses between 1,500 and 6,000 watts, and the pump can add another 1,500 watts. This usage can result in a monthly cost of around $20 to $30. The exact amount of electricity consumed depends on several factors, including the hot tub's age, size, heater voltage (120V vs. 240V), usage habits, and thermostat setting. Newer, energy-efficient models generally use less power than older ones. To reduce electricity costs, consider investing in an energy-efficient model, using a quality insulated cover with a thermal blanket, and keeping the filters clean.
