"Project was done quickly. Price was higher that others, but I hired them because they could address my issue immediately that same day. I had a small fire in my electrical box and needed the box and breakers replaced. Tech was knowledgeable and nice work work with and provided updates as he worked. He finished the job within a few hours. Reason for 4 stars instead of 5…price was high. Also, I came home the day after the job was done and my furnace was off and my washer/dryer breaker was tripped. Haven’t determined the cause yet, but will provide an update once I figure it out or have Precision back out to check things."

Small jobs welcome

"Elite Power Electrical installed an EV Charger a week ago. JOSE and his crew came on time and covered up my floor and stairs to keep them clean. They ran a line from my electrical panel in the basement to my garage. They did a great job consealing the conduit making it look minimal and sleek. Jose used a high grade, heavy duty, 50A receptacle. Also had the correct 50A, 240 breaker. I liked how Elite detailed the equipment in their quote. STAGE 2 Charger is working great! I would recommend them to friends and family."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

Geneva offers residential electricians for home wiring and upgrades, commercial specialists for business needs, and emergency service contractors for urgent repairs. Some contractors focus on smart home systems, solar panel installations, EV charging stations, or backup generators—especially useful during local outages. Choose a contractor familiar with Geneva’s historic homes, unique layouts, and neighborhood requirements for a smooth electrical project experience.

Helpful?

In Geneva, if you notice flickering lights, frequent circuit breaker trips, outlets that feel warm, or a burning odor, these are strong indicators you need electrical work—especially in older homes with historic wiring. If GFCI outlets won’t reset or you experience mild shocks from switches, call an electrician. If issues follow water leaks or only happen with certain appliances, consider plumbing or HVAC repairs first.

Helpful?

Many Geneva homes feature plaster walls, knob-and-tube wiring, or balloon framing, which can make electrical upgrades more challenging. Finished basements, brick exteriors, and multi-story layouts may limit access for new wiring or outlets. If your home has unique features like kitchen islands or finished attics, expect extra planning to ensure electrical work is safe, efficient, and up to code throughout your property.

Helpful?

Before starting electrical upgrades in Geneva, confirm if permits are needed and review local code requirements. Schedule projects during milder weather to avoid delays from winter storms. Arrange inspections early and coordinate with your utility provider for service changes. For outdoor work, always check for underground lines. Careful planning helps ensure your electrical project in Geneva stays on track and meets all safety standards.

Helpful?

Geneva’s climate—with cold winters and summer storms—means outdoor electrical work is best scheduled for spring or fall. Some neighborhoods have HOA or historic district rules affecting exterior changes. Power outages and overhead lines are common in older areas, and energy efficiency rebates are available locally. Upgrading your electrical system can also increase your home’s value in Geneva’s active real estate market.
