"Joe was a great help with our electrical projects. We had several smaller projects that we needed done in our new house. He recommended some ways to simplify our projects, quoted a reasonable cost, and performed great work. He even did a great job cleaning up after finishing. I would highly recommend him for your project!"

"Project was done quickly. Price was higher that others, but I hired them because they could address my issue immediately that same day. I had a small fire in my electrical box and needed the box and breakers replaced. Tech was knowledgeable and nice work work with and provided updates as he worked. He finished the job within a few hours. Reason for 4 stars instead of 5…price was high. Also, I came home the day after the job was done and my furnace was off and my washer/dryer breaker was tripped. Haven’t determined the cause yet, but will provide an update once I figure it out or have Precision back out to check things."

Small jobs welcome

"We had some dead electrical outlets that the circuit breaker flipping did not fix. Found the problem (60 year old breaker w/ corroded contacts) and fixed it. Had them also replace two electrical outlet (near our washing machine, one in the bathroom) with GCFI outlets to bring them (closer) to code. Also pointed out that our electrical panel is at the age to be replaced, but did not push into anything ."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

New homeowners in Batavia should begin with an electrical inspection, especially if the home is older. Prioritize upgrading the electrical panel if needed, installing GFCI outlets in kitchens, bathrooms, and outdoors, and adding whole-house surge protection. Weatherproofing outdoor outlets and updating basement or garage wiring ensures compliance with current electrical codes and helps protect against Batavia’s seasonal weather extremes.

Helpful?

In Batavia, residential electrical contractors handle home wiring, panel upgrades, and electrical inspections. Commercial specialists focus on business properties, while emergency electricians address urgent repairs, especially after severe weather. Some contractors specialize in smart home installations, solar panel systems, landscape lighting, or pool and spa wiring. Many offer ongoing maintenance and seasonal inspection services tailored to Batavia’s unique climate and housing stock.

Helpful?

Batavia homeowners should create a seasonal electrical inspection routine by checking outdoor outlets and GFCIs each spring, monitoring the electrical panel during summer’s high air conditioning use, and inspecting pool or spa wiring. In fall, test smoke and carbon monoxide detectors and prepare for storms. During winter, watch for ice-related electrical issues and confirm your system can handle increased heating demands to maintain year-round safety.

Helpful?

When planning electrical projects in Batavia, consider historic district guidelines for exterior changes, local utility requirements, and the city’s permit process. The area’s cold winters and humid summers mean weather-resistant materials are essential. Electrical upgrades can help preserve property value in Batavia’s competitive market. Align your plans with neighborhood standards, city inspection schedules, and check for available rebate programs that may support efficiency improvements.

Helpful?

In Batavia, electrical issues like sparking outlets, burning odors, repeated breaker trips, or persistent flickering lights require immediate attention due to safety risks. After storms, check for weather-related electrical damage right away. Less urgent projects, such as panel upgrades or adding outlets, can be scheduled within a few months. For homes built before 1970, prioritize a professional electrical inspection to address outdated wiring.
