"I work with other contractors and Robert knows what he is doing. He is fair with money, but still didn't everything with above reproach. I would recommend Robert for any electrical job and intend on using him in the future."

Customers say: True professional

"In January 2023, Steve Durkiewicz stepped into a project that had previously become a financial nightmare and turned it into the dream project that we had first imagined. We had previously hired and paid ($1,765.00) a different person/business that claimed to be a licensed and experienced electrician, to install new lighting in our kitchen and home office, as well as install recessed lighting in our family room. But the job was a disaster, unprofessional and substandard - e.g. all electrical wiring was incorrect, ceiling drywall wire routing in relation to studs/framing was incorrect (i.e. ceiling drywall could not be repaired due to lack of space), etc. Steve came in and repaired all of that. With patience and professionalism, he explained every step as he made corrections, and still completed the task in a timely manner! Thank you, EMF Electric! You'll definitely hear from me again!"

"recently hired Bright Room Electric for some electrical work in my home, and I couldn?t be more impressed. From the first phone call to the final walkthrough, their professionalism and attention to detail stood out. The electricians arrived on time, explained the work clearly, and completed everything efficiently and safely. They were respectful of my home, cleaned up after themselves, and made sure I was completely satisfied with the results. It?s rare to find a company that combines skill, reliability, and great customer service?but Bright Room Electric delivered on all fronts. I?ll definitely be calling them again for any future electrical needs and highly recommend them to anyone looking for top-notch service."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

Combining electrical work with other renovations in Aurora is efficient and minimizes disruption. For example, during a kitchen remodel, upgrading your electrical panel, adding new circuits, or installing GFCI outlets together can streamline inspections and reduce labor overlap. Coordinating these projects often means fewer contractor visits and a smoother permit process, making your home upgrades more convenient and cost-effective.

Helpful?

Electrical project timelines in Aurora vary by scope. Panel upgrades typically take 1–2 days, while whole-house rewiring may last 3–7 days, especially in older homes with plaster walls. Installing new circuits or GFCI outlets usually takes a few hours. Permit processing and city inspections are generally quick, but winter weather or utility scheduling can add a day or two to the process.

Helpful?

In Aurora, regular electrical maintenance should address local conditions like seasonal moisture and older home wiring. Test GFCI outlets every few months, inspect your panel for rust or corrosion—common in basements—and replace outdoor outlet covers before winter. After heavy spring rains, check for water intrusion near wiring. Paying attention to these Aurora-specific issues helps keep your electrical system safe and reliable year-round.

Helpful?

Aurora’s weather can affect electrical work in several ways. Frozen ground in winter makes outdoor wiring and generator installations more challenging, while spring storms often increase the need for surge protection and repairs. High summer humidity and heavy AC use can strain older electrical systems. The area’s clay soil can shift, impacting underground wiring, so timing and preparation are key for successful electrical projects in Aurora.

Helpful?

In Aurora, if you notice flickering lights throughout your home, frequent breaker trips, burning odors, or warm outlets—especially in older houses—these are strong indicators you need electrical work. GFCI outlets that won’t reset or tingling from switches also point to wiring issues. If just one fixture or appliance is affected, check for a faulty device or loose bulb before calling an electrician.
