"We had Henderson Electric hook up the electrical for our new hot tub. They installed the proper breakers, ran conduit/wiring through the attic, to the outside wall, underground to a post, then mounted a switch panel and completed wiring to the hot tub. Can't say enough good things about our experience. Excellent quality of work overall. Very clean and complete professional work. Also very good communication and follow up, which, unfortunately, is not all that common these days. Classic example of doing it right or don't do it, which we really appreciated. We also appreciated the knowledge and expertise as we knew what we wanted done, but not necessarily the best way to accomplish what we needed. They helped us explore and weigh out several options for different ways to do the job, and explained pros and cons of each option. Gave us an estimate the next day and got us on the schedule right away. We had contacted other contractors/electricians and got a few other estimates, some more expensive, some less, but none of them gave us the level of personal service and professionalism like Henderson's. Would absolutely recommend Henderson's to anyone looking to get any home electrical work done."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

Homeowners in Twin Falls often overlook the need for permits, even for smaller electrical upgrades. Attempting DIY work in older homes without proper expertise can create safety hazards. Neglecting to weatherproof outdoor outlets, forgetting to coordinate with local utility providers, and not upgrading panels for new technology like EV chargers are frequent missteps. Failing to plan for irrigation system wiring can also cause delays or code issues.

Helpful?

Homeowners in Twin Falls are increasingly installing smart thermostats, irrigation controls, and security systems to suit local climate and lifestyle needs. LED lighting upgrades and smart switches are popular for energy efficiency. Outdoor living enhancements—like landscape lighting and outdoor kitchens—reflect the area’s love for entertaining. There’s also growing interest in EV charging stations, solar-ready panels, and upgraded garage or shop electrical systems.

Helpful?

In Twin Falls, start spring by checking for winter damage and testing outdoor outlets before irrigation season. In summer, monitor your system during high AC use and inspect outdoor entertainment areas. Fall is ideal for preparing for heating season and holiday lighting. During winter, check backup power and indoor air quality systems. Throughout the year, test GFCI outlets and smoke detectors monthly for safety.

Helpful?

In Twin Falls, be wary if an electrical contractor suggests skipping required permits or cannot provide references from established neighborhoods like Falcon Cove or Harrison Park. Extremely low quotes often signal unqualified work or shortcuts. Watch for professionals who pressure you for immediate payment, lack verifiable insurance, or show up unsolicited—especially after storms, when scams targeting local homeowners tend to increase.

Helpful?

If you experience frequent breaker trips, flickering lights during high usage, or outlets that feel warm or emit a burnt smell, it’s time to schedule electrical work in Twin Falls. Homes built before 1980 or those with aluminum wiring often need updates. Consider planning projects before extreme weather seasons, and if you’re adding a home office or installing solar, schedule early to avoid peak demand times.
