"Very reliable, friendly and communicative. Replaced pool filter housing in an emergency. Was very flexible with my schedule, arrived on time (actually early) and provided me with very clear videos on how to maintain the filter in the future. Highly recommend Henry and Affordable Pool & Heating! J. Byrne, July 2026"

"Very knowledgable team, upfront and honest about limitations of project, costs of options and professional recommendations. Team is led by company owner. Communication excellent and I felt well educated about relevant issues. Solar heating of a pool is limited until the weather warms up, even in coastal FL, but my pool plumbing was not conducive to a typical pool heater. Prompt same day service by the owner when I had a problem with my system. Highly recommend."

"I had an issue with the last company i worked with, and i called Steven, and he personally came out and started the process of fixing what the last company had done. The very next day he had one of his employees come out to make sure everything was going as it should, and made sure our pool was back to working order as soon as possible"

"American leak detection sent a technician out within an hour of calling. Ron was the technician they sent, he was excellent, very professional, explained what and why he was doing the testing he was doing, leak was found. Est for repairs seemed reasonable. We will definitely be using this company in the future and for the repairs now"

Pool and Spa Servicing questions, answered by experts

A hot tub cover's lifespan is typically between three and seven years, with an average of five to seven years for a well-maintained one. The quality of the cover is a major factor; lower-quality polyester or vinyl soft covers can tear easily with regular use.

To extend the life of your cover, proper maintenance is key. This includes:

  • Keeping the cover clean, dry, and out of the sun. Use a soft cloth and mild dish soap for cleaning.

  • Applying a vinyl protectant spray.

  • Cleaning the underside with a chlorine spray.

  • Using a cover lift to prevent damage from rough handling.

  • Protecting it from harsh weather.

  • Keeping children and pets off the cover.

Investing in a high-quality cover and checking for a warranty at the time of purchase can also contribute to its longevity.

Yes, they provide full-service inspections, identifying and resolving any potential equipment problems.

No. In fact, some owners prefer to “summerize” their hot tubs and use them primarily over winter to enjoy the contrast of cold and hot water. It’s possible to keep the tub filled and running year-round, and some pros may even recommend this method compared to the work and risks of a full winterization every year.

However, keeping the hot tub running will require additional resources. You’ll use more power and more chemicals to keep it in good shape. Weigh the pros and cons of your situation before making a decision.

A compact unit designed for two to three people typically weighs approximately 500 pounds in its empty state. On the other hand, a larger hot tub meant for up to six people can weigh around 1,000 pounds when empty. Materials used also impact weight. Less expensive hot tubs are typically lighter because they are made of molded plastic or fiberglass.

Regular water testing, filter cleaning, and chemical balancing are essential for keeping water clean and equipment functional.
