Tropical Pools and Pavers LLC

We contracted with Tropical Pools for a pool and spa and patio deck with a target date of July 4th. We were swimming on July the 3rd. Everyone was great from start to finish. Then Hurricane Helene flooded us. Ronnie and 2 other young men came out, replaced the pump, drained the pool, cleaned it, and has it going again. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a new pool.

This is absolutely the worst company ever. It took 4 phone calls and 4 months to get a quote. I went forward with them because they were a little less expensive than their competitors. One of the owners, Curtis, assured me that the project would go smoothly and he would make sure I knew what was going on at all times. I signed the contract in November. It took them 3 months just to get permits. I could not get a plan or even a list of steps. I had to continuously ask what was going to happen next. As a single woman who has never had a pool, l felt helpless, but hoped for the best. It took 4 months to finish that included several heated exchanges with Curtis. They didn't explain anything about how to take care of a salt pool. I hired someone to take care of it that asked me questions about the first 30 day requirements and I had no idea what he was talking about. Supposedly their office was supposed to send me some standard paperwork that went over that, but they didn't. There were electrical problems with spa which they did fix. And the pavers have started to collapse only 2 months after completion. I can't warn strongly enough to not use this company!!!!!

I wish I could really express how grateful I am that I hired this company. I'm thrilled with what they have done for us. Our pool is more gorgeous than I imagined it could be. Our sales person, Jon, was very honest. We met with 6 other companies and when I started asking about some features we wanted for our pool, he was less expensive and explained what it costs them to install that feature and what they made off it. The honesty was refreshing after all the other salesmen I spoke to. He also explained that we needed a special line put in for the cleaner we wanted, that none of the other salesmen mentioned which made me feel like I could trust that he really knew what he was talking about. The plans, pricing, contract all went seamlessly. We knew we were in line behind other builds. When our time came to start, men were here at 8am each morning that they were suppose to work. I was never chasing down "when will you be here". The man who runs the build, Curtis, was awesome! He answered all my millions of questions along the way. He never tried to nickel and dime me, which I'd heard stories about other companies doing and was worried about. Everything went off without a hitch. Our job was particularly complicated because our yard is large and the house is old, 1928, with lots of strange complications. They rocked it. The pavers are beautiful! The sales person, Jon did warn me that if I went with a particular paver company I had picked out that they take a little longer..he was right but in the end it was worth it. I also used their paver guy, Junior, to seal our pavers after. I'm so happy with the outcome and how they took care of us...I'd recommend them to anyone.

Our salesman, Jon, was punctual and extremely knowledgeable. He quickly provided an estimate and rendering which was perfect. It was exactly what we wanted. Once we got started there were never any delays. Curtis was always easily accessible if we had any questions. The finished product has exceeded our expectations. We are so happy with our beautiful new pool. Thank you!

The owner contacted me the same day I inquired, was extremely friendly and knowledgeable and upfront about all costs. A meeting with the pool designer was set and he arrived on time, was very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately I never heard back from the pool designer with final design changes after several back and forth emails with potential changes, so nothing was ever finalized. What contact I did have was all positive and I believe that I would've been happy working with them. My grades are based on the contact I did have with both the owner and pool designer, only bad thing is never hearing back from them. Not sure if they didn't want my business or if there was another issue, so hard to say if I would hire again, yet the review form makes you choose a yes or no answer.

Jonathan, the salesperson, was great. He was patient and explained all aspects of the process to us. He did several designs for us before we settled on one, which incorporated many of his suggestions. Early in the process, we learned our home builder took a shortcut and laid the power cable directly through the middle of our backyard. However, this didn't come as a surprise, because Jonathan warned us it could happen. After a seven week delay to move the power cable, we were back in business. At the end of June, I visited the Tropical Pools and Pavers showroom where Johnathan helped me pick out tile, wall material, pavers, and gunite color. Curtis prevented us from making a big mistake in our original paver choice, and we are thankful for that now.
Anyone who experienced July 2015 in Tampa Bay knows it rained for more than 20 days straight. The weather delayed construction quite a bit, but the Tropical Pools and Pavers office staff kept us apprised of the schedule and got us back on track once we dried out. The electrical and screen enclosure contractors were professional and did exceptional work. Everything about this project went as described, the weather just didn't cooperate for much of the summer.
The pool was completed last week and looks even better than we anticipated. From the paver deck, to the waterfall feature, the LED light, and the sun-shelf, it all looks exceptional. We couldn't be more pleased with the process from start to finish and we would recommend Tropical Pools and Pavers without reservation to anyone looking for a great, quality product at a reasonable cost. Thanks to the entire Tropical Pools and Pavers team for your professionalism and dedication to producing a quality product. I know we will continue to love this pool for years to come.

Good luck getting a call back. I submitted a request for an estimate on their webisite July 7th and did not receive a call back. A friend of mine is having a pool done by them, so she gave me the sale person's number and I tried to call him directly (twice) that week. July 14th I called the main office and was told someone would call me within 48 hours. It has now been another week and still no call.
I understand that they are known for quality construction and and quot; are very busyand quot; (per the secretary I spoke to at the office). However, given that I can't even get a call back after two weeks of trying, I'm going to pass on using them in the future. If they don't want to SELL me a pool, I can't imagine what they'll be like once they get my money.

Tropical Pools and Pavers was one of three bigger pool companies we met with in our buying decision. The other two are well known around the Tampa Bay area, one of them being the biggest in Tampa Bay. I cannot say enough about how much more Tropical Pools impressed us versus the other two, which is why we ultimately decided to use them for our pool install. Right from the start, Jon, the sales person was very knowledgeable, professional and VERY responsive and timely in his follow up. His professionalism stood out greatly compared to the competition. We weren't sure exactly what we wanted and he was very agreeable to do multiple designs for us until we got it just as we wanted. Tropical also has 3D software which allows you to visualize the pool before you decide. This was very helpful, as it's hard to picture a blank yard turning into something else. We ultimately are very pleased with the outcome and had a great experience the whole process. The construction crews and all subcontractors were very professional as well and did what they said they would. The building process was right on time with what Tropical had promised, with a few setbacks due to rain, but other than that everything was delivered as promised. There were a few things that didn't go as planned, but Tropical made it right and fixed what was needed without hesitation. We are very pleased with the outcome. If you're looking for a quality company who delivers what they say they will, Tropical is the company.

We shopped around a LOT before making a decision. Apparently the pool industry has a few bad eggs out there which makes is difficult for everyone. Ronnie visited us personally and simply listened. No pressure, just great advice when we asked for it. Did an outstanding job designing it for us too. Construction went smoothly and everyone involved in the project was courteous and professional. They were very neat and organized and cleaned up after themselves. Communication was excellent. I could get answers quickly when I needed them. We thought the price was very fair for what we got. HIGHLY recommend.

It turned out beautifully. He took a lot of pictures and was going to use it in his advertising. Overall my experience and everything was A quality.

They were absolutely fabulous. They did everything on time, on budget, the workmanship was fantastic, any questions that I asked they answered so I would highly recommend them.

They installed a new pool and spa with self cleaning jets, pebbleTec finish, salt system, heated pool and Spa, pavers, LED lights and full automation using iAqualink. They finished in the timeframe they quoted as promised.

They are very polite when we call the office. They come when we call and are very professional. They did a good job in a timely manner. I was impressed that they stood by their work and fixed the problem at no cost to us.
