The office promptly messaged me back and a pleasant & knowledgeable lady explained why they always require the customer to pay for a visit to estimate this simple job. I do understand this is company policy though it makes it near impossible to compare prices. Again, if I paid for an estimate, I'd feel like I'd made an investment and pressured to go with the company - regardless of whom. Another thing - I could send photos for such basic work, and would rather get a minimum price with a contract stipulation that the end price may be higher based on time spent, etc."
