"The fellow who came that day determined what we had was 1) not up to code and would take a lot of work to fix (we could not afford it at the time), 2) we did not have a new range hood available to replace the broken one, and 3) could not fix the ceiling fan as we did not have the part. He only charged a small service fee for the visit."

"Chris was very prompt and very efficient. He installed a ceiling fan and electrical outlet and did a great job. He explained the surge protection warranty and we decided to take it to protect our property. Our home is not quite a year old. Chris pointed out a burnt wire in our panel box and repaired it. He may have saved us from a fire. I would highly recommend Sargeant s Electric"

"Great service. I have a 13000 watt generator. I needed this company to wire my house so I could plug the generator in to my house in case of a power outage. Before they left they made sure everything worked. This generator will even run my air conditioner."

"Lamont did a great job on the many items I needed done. I had a list of work to be done but was having trouble finding one person who could or would do them all. After much searching I found Lamont and read his great reviews. Now I know why. He was able to complete everything on my list! From installing new storm door, replacing interior doors and hardware, repairing holes and painting closets, hanging ceiling fans, cutting marble backsplash and installing, etc. He is very patient and listens to what you want then completes the work nicely. He is polite, respectful, and professional. He was able to work me into his schedule quickly and completed the work in the amount of time estimated and for the price quoted. I highly recommend him for anything you need done and when I need something he is the only person I'll be calling.... I am very thankful to have found him."

"I liked that you always got someone on the phone when you called and they stuck to their word. They came when they said they would. We thought we would have a problem when one of the workers made a hole in our ceiling, but they came back to fix it when they said they would be coming and you can’t even tell the difference. Quality workmanship! I would definitely re-hire if I needed to."

My name is Kris.\nI moved down here from NY to get my degree in Graphic Design at IADT Tampa. Since graduating, Ive done flyers, logos, brochures, photography, websites, billboards, etc., but along the way I picked up other skills such as phone screen repair, vending machine repair, DJing, and furniture building from Ashley Furniture and Kanes Furniture. Each one of these jobs I mastered to a level in which I began training people, and doing work on my own!\nI live in Riverview but travel far without a problem.\nMy rates are fair, and I am a very fast paced, and efficient person. I refuse to leave a job until it is finished. If you would ever like to discuss or adjust the prices, I am beyond open to it.\nIts always safe to ask for a total, or just look at my price sheet listed before asking for help.\nMultiple items at once will not have you billed multiple times!\nRates can be discussed with me, and I can work with you.\nCredit Card Payments can be charged, but there will be a fee.\nI need to be clear about Gazebos and Pergolas. I have a set price for a build on them, and a discount group price for them. The item alone to build is $300, the item plus a patio set is $400. Im placing this price point here to save all parties any sort of time in trying to negotiate price with me. It is a very long, heavy build to do, and I need to do it with my partner, who also needs to be paid for his time.\nI DO NOT KNOW HOW TO ASSEMBLE, REASSEMBLE, OR REPAIR POOL TABLES, TRAMPOLINES, OR SHEDS\nI ALSO DO NOT DO HOURLY. ITS BY THE JOB. IF I CHARGED YOU HOURLY THEN I COULD TAKE 3 HOURS TO DO A JOB THAT NORMALLY TAKES ME 1 HOUR, AND THAT WOULD BE UNFAIR TO YOU

Ceiling Fans questions, answered by experts

If the fan doesn’t have a switch, connect the white wire from the ceiling to the white wire from the fan; connect the green wire to the ground wire; connect both black wires; and connect both blue wires. If yours has a switch, the white and green wires are connected the same way. However, connect the ceiling’s red wire to the light’s black wire and the ceiling’s black wire to the fan’s black wire.

Many ceiling fan mounts feature a design that can accommodate slight slopes by using a ball joint mechanism at the end of the downrod. If your ceiling has a steeper slope than your fan allows for, you can install a downrod that will allow your fan to safely hang below the slope.

Most ceiling fans have a lifespan of anywhere from five to 15 years or 10 years on average. Just how long your ceiling fan lasts depends on the quality of the parts, how much it’s used, and how well you maintain it. A fan with a weak motor that runs on the medium setting nonstop is likely to have a shorter lifespan compared to a fan with a powerful motor that runs on the slowest setting for air circulation.

There are many types of ceiling fans available, each designed for different spaces and needs. Standard ceiling fans are the most common type and work well in most rooms. Low-profile ceiling fans are better suited for rooms with low ceilings. Smart ceiling fans can be controlled with a smartphone or voice commands. For larger spaces with ceilings between 10 and 25 feet high, large ceiling fans are ideal. Dual-motor fans have two motors to produce more airflow in multiple directions. You can also find energy-efficient or Energy-Star models that can be up to 60% more efficient, as well as fans with built-in lights or retractable blades.

Ceiling fans are very often worth the investment because they improve comfort in your living space and help reduce utility bills. In the late spring and early fall—and even in the summer in some areas—homeowners with ceiling fans can often get away with open windows and fans, which can cut down on cooling bills and also reduce wear and tear on the HVAC system. Over time, ceiling fans can pay for themselves by saving you money on electric bills and air conditioner repair and maintenance.
