"Outstanding. I noticed the other day that my front porch light had dropped out of the recessed receptacle and was hanging by its wires. I quickly contacted several electricians from Angie's list and only heard back from two of them. Both were pleasant and helpful. One could not get to me for about 7-9 days. The other (Phaze Electric) had me on their schedule the next day. Jerome showed up early and quickly assessed what was needed. He obtained the necessary part from Lowe's and was back in a flash to remove the old housing and install the new one. I also used Phaze Electric a couple of years ago to hang ceiling fans on my back porch and they did an excellent job then, too. Phaze Electric will be the company I call in the future for all my electrical needs. I trust them to do a great job at a reasonable price."

Customers say: Quick response

"R & L Power Solutions responded very quickly after my inquiry on Angi. Showed up to estimate the job same day as I inquired. The work was scheduled two days later, they arrived at scheduled time and started quickly. All of the work was done as discussed and in a very professional manner. Job site was cleaned up once finished. I couldn't be happier, I will use them again when I need electrical work done!"

"Dwight is an amazingly friendly, patient, and knowledgeable electrician! I had a problem with a circuit breaker tripping, and he went through and explored what could be happening without jumping immediately to suggesting a fix while not understanding what was actually happening. He also helped me get a permit for one of my electrical receptacles that a different electrician put up which was of great help."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

If your fan is ceiling-mounted and will vent through the attic to the outside, you will need an electrician to handle the wiring, and if you need to install ductwork for the first time or replace existing ductwork, you will need an HVAC professional as well.

If you've ever tried to run your dishwasher while drying your hair, you’ll understand why dedicated circuits are essential for preventing blown fuses. Appliances that require more electricity than the circuit can handle could blow fuses, trip breakers, overheat, and risk an electrical fire.

Having a dedicated circuit ensures that your appliance gets the current it needs without overloading the other circuits in your home.

Yes, blue wires can be hot wires in the U.S. However, they are less common in residential properties than red and black hot wires. Blue wires are typically used as traveler wires in three-way and four-way switches, as well as ceiling fans. They allow fixtures to be controlled by multiple switches, like when there are switches at the top and bottom of a staircase for the same light.

Leaving lights on raises the electric bill, but not as much as having high-wattage light bulbs. The best way to save on electric costs is to swap your light bulbs to LED or CFL bulbs that use far fewer watts. You can also use smart lights and light switches to control usage via a smartphone or voice-controlled device.

GFCI outlets help prevent dangers from ground faults that can cause shocks. This is a different issue that a ground circuit can’t fully address. It’s best to use GFCI outlets combined with ground circuits for complete protection for you and your electronics.
