"In Jan 2019, we paid them $3100 to rescreen our pool area. We were given a 5 year Warranty. It looked like a great job and they had to come out and replace a panel a rat ate through, and we paid for that. Perfect. Then we got iguanas that pulled 2 panels from the roof side of the house. We offered to pay for those, However, there are 6 more panels that came loose and the spine is hanging and loose panels are flapping that were NOT done by the animals. The workmanship should last more than 6 months. We have not had any storms and with just daily weather, so many panels should not have come loose. We called, texted, sent letters with no response. We only want the screens repaired as stated in the 5 year warranty, which is not being honored. We don't like doing bad reviews but are really hurt that the screen warranty is not honored. $3100 is a lot of money for us and we are back where we were with bad screens. All we want is, the screens fixed and we will pay for the 2 panels damaged by the iguanas. Thank you."

"On September 16, 2025, I met with a Paradise Exteriors sales representative who first quoted me $113,000 for window and door replacement. After a few “calls with the owner,” the price was lowered to $82,000 on the condition that I sign the contract and pay a $5,000 deposit that same evening. I was assured that under Florida law, I would have three business days to cancel without penalty. The following day, I emailed the sales representative to cancel. On the morning of September 19th, within the three-day cancellation window—I hand-delivered the signed Notice of Cancellation to their office. Mark Hildreth, Vice President of Operations, signed and misdated the document for September 20 instead of September 19, which would have made it appear I missed the deadline. When I later checked the form in my car, I noticed the incorrect date. I immediately returned to the office, where an employee tried to white out the error; I insisted on a new signature and correct date. Despite complying fully with Florida Statute §501.025, which requires refunds within ten business days of cancellation, Paradise Exteriors failed to return my $5,000 deposit. When I called, they said it was in review and they actually have 14 days. I reached out to the sales rep and asked to investigate it , I spoke to an employee at a booth they had set up and had him send a strong message back to the owner. None of that helped me get my deposit back, until October 15, 2025—more than three weeks later—I had an attorney send a certified letter. Only then did the owner personally call and hand-deliver the refund that evening. Based on my research, this appears to be a recurring practice. Public complaints show other consumers waiting for refunds after cancellations. Paradise Exteriors currently has 37 BBB complaints in the past three years yet still holds an A+ rating. And 30 negative reviews on Angie’s and they still have 4.5 stars. These ratings do not help the consumer and I ask that you review your ratings"

I’ve managed my fair share of much larger commercial construction projects so I’m well aware of the quality and performance spectrum one might encounter with any contractor. I can honestly say that I don’t remember a project that went this smoothly. Joel was a pleasure to deal with, his crew knew the assignment and executed well, and they were all responsive when I had questions or suggestions about the project. I don’t expect any issues now that the project is done but if something did come up,I am very confident that Joel will make it right. "The problem with the roof leak has been taken care of by Florida Retrofits. Unfortunately it became an issue, but in the end the problem was solved to my satisfaction Unfortunately this company has forced me to write this negative review. I had a roof installed 4 years ago. Since that time I have had a stubborn leak. This leak was the entire reason I had a new roof installed and this company assured me that it would be taken care of. This particular fix was explicitly written into the contract. Guess what, they did not do this work. So for 4 years I have been trying to get them to honor this contract. No go. Now they send me an outrageous quote to do work they were supposed to do in the first place. I even offered them some money to take the sting away. Pretty poor... I feel bad that this would cost them money to fix, but they had their chance when they first did the work and chose not to to it properly per the contract. Once again, even though this was in writing I am on the hook for this. Now I have to hire another contractor and hope to sue them for my money. Stupid business practice... I am not considered a complainer when it comes to contractors, I used to be one myself, but this is unacceptable.."

"When my hurricane shutters were installed, I was told that they could withstand a hurricane level 5. I really doubted that. On Sept 28, 2022 Hurricane Ian blew straight over my house. It was a few mph under a hurricane 5. While some of my neighbors homes were devastated, my house did not incur any inside damage. The money I spent on the shutters was money well spent. On the day after the hurricane, I asked my neighbors to check on my house. Unfortunately, since power was out, they could not get in through my garage and the shutters were locked. I called Eurex to see if they could come and open my front door shutter. I was told that if someone was in the area, he would stop by and open the shutter. Nothing was mentioned about a service fee. A month later I received a call that I owed $150 for opening the shutter. I paid reluctantly and asked for a receipt. I am still waiting a month later. The young lady said she would send it as soon as my card was "ran." Her verb not mine."
