Had an estimate done two years ago for impact rated windows on a 3 story home. The price was in the ballpark. Ultimately the project never went forward because I ended up selling the house shortly after the estimate was done and I bought another home in the area. I decided to have the same companies that bid on the windows at the first home come give me an estimate on hurricane shutters on the new purchase. They sent the same estimator, Zeynep Dougherty, and again, the estimate was within range of what I ended-up paying. The problem with both estimates is that is was purely a negative sale. Not at one point did Zeynep ever tell me anything positive about her company. Only negatives about other companies. Off the bat, she wanted to know the names of the other companies that were giving me estimates, and immediately dismissed them as second rate, "fly-by-night" companies that had a lot of bad reviews. Even stating that one of them was, "kicked off of Angie's List", which wasn't true at all. When she arrived for the estimates on both occasions, she immediately asked if the other companies provided the measurements of the windows and shutters so that she wouldn't have to measure. As a former successful contractor, I found most of their sales and estimating practices very poor. The only positive was that they showed-up when they said they would. But that was about it.
