I received a fair and reasonable proposal to do this retrofit work. I didn't want the cheapest, I needed a firm who would do it right, on time and who I was comfortable with. From the first discussion with Ron Cook at Wind Mitigation Retrofits I could tell he was honest, trustworthy and professional. His employees showed up on time, were professional and polite, and Ron briefed me every step of the way. I did have one issue on a missed truss after I paid him, (which can easily happen) and once I brought it to his attention he immediately apologized and personally went out to my house with his best employee and fixed the issue. Shocking in South Florida that there still are contractors that actually have pride in their work and who value their reputation.
I am willing to pay a little more for quality work with any company that stands behind their product and services, communicates with you timely and addresses any questions or concerns you may have. I would, and will, recommend this company to anyone who needs their services. I am extremely satisfied with their work.
"We are a company founded on integrity and providing the highest level of quality workmanship and customer service to our clients. Unfortunately this job was at a time when we had an issue with two disgruntled employees which lead to their termination. When the customer informed us of the unfinished job we immediately set up an appointment to finish the job correctly and the CEO of our company made a special trip to talk with the customer and personally supervise the job. The customer was given a full refund and the work was completed to our high standards, and certified by an outside inspector; we do not inspect our own work due to any conflicts of interest that may arise. At this time we have completed this job to Florida code standards, our client received a full and complete refund, and the two employees that caused this problem have been terminated. Here at Wind Mitigation Retrofits of Florida LLC we typically don't have displeased customers because we go above and beyond to provide each client with complete satisfaction, even at our expense. This was a terrible situation that we have done everything in our power to correct and prevent from happening again."
From the time we contacted Wind Mitigation Retrofits of Florida LLC they knew exactly what we were talking about. They sent someone to look at the roof and a**** the problem and give us an estimate of what was needed and the cost of the work. Once we signed a contract with them the work was done immediately and passed inspection for the sale of our home.
I highly recommend this company. They are easy and efficient to work with and are not trying to sell you work that is not needed for your situation.

His photos -- which will not only circulate to the wind mitigation inspector, my insurance agent, and homeowner insurance company -- will be helpful to me in the future should I sell the house. I also gain a huge benefit of peace of mind with the security of my roof, particularly during any severe storms.
I would like to note that I had roofing companies offer to do the work by taking up old shingles, cutting through the plywood, and doing the retrofits prior to installing new roof shingles. I did not like the idea of weakening the roof structure by cutting then renailing the plywood, and so glad a home inspector recommended Wind Mitigation Retrofits of FL to me.
