"I don't know where to start so I'll just say this company is FABULOUS. I went through every window company on Angie's list and to my knowledge M3 is the only one that has earned straight A's from it's customers, and I see why. Scott, the owner, spent a lot of time looking at my job and answering every question I had. He kept me informed every step of the way and gave me plenty of notice for scheduling installation. The installers were extremely punctual and quick, in addition to being affable, polite guys. There's not a nick in the paint that needs touchup after this installation and the place was left immaculate.. I couldn't be more happy with my job and M3 Windows and Doors.."

"Great service from John Barnes Window Tinting. John came out for the estimate and gave us a lot of information about window tinting and recommended the best film for our window needs. John’s pricing was very good compared to other companies we got estimates from. His installer was great. He is obviously has a lot of experience and did an excellent Job on the windows. He left my home as clean as he found it. We are extremely satisfied with our purchase and the service."

"Absolutely thrilled with the window tinting service! The professional tinted 9 windows in my house flawlessly. The quality of work was exceptional, and the attention to detail was evident in every window. Not only does my house look fantastic, but the temperature inside is noticeably cooler. "Called A&N because of a water leak I had from a window in my townhouse. He did some caulking on the windows over two trips and was able to stop the leak. Unfortunately for myself the leak had rotted the frame over years and I was forced to replace the windows anyway. But the guy was very knowledgeable about what he was doing and why, and even went as far to tell me which products he was using and how they hold up better than others. I did have him service my sliding glass door while he was there. Replaced all rollers and adjust and it works flawlessly. Would recommend this company to anyone needing sliding door or window repair concerns."

Windows questions, answered by experts

Look for stickers at the top or inside of the frame, like in the tracks when the window is open. Some brands also stamp their name onto the frame itself or place it between the panes of glass, although this is less common. If you can’t find the info on the window itself, consider asking your neighbors or HOA.

Yes. Vinyl windows have a PVC frame that wraps around a glass panel that is usually made up of two thinner glass panels separated by an insulating, noise-absorbing airspace. Some vinyl windows are triple-glazed, with three insulating air panels within them. This glass helps keep your interior quiet from outside noise while its insulating qualities help your space stay cool in the summer and warm in the winter.

You should avoid using abrasive materials and harsh chemicals when cleaning windows. Abrasive tools like scrubbing pads, rough cloths, or steel wool can permanently scratch and damage the glass. Harsh chemical cleaners containing alcohol or ammonia can damage window treatments, frame materials, and special features like tinting. It is also best to use distilled or filtered water instead of hard water, which can leave spots or streaks. For best results, use a clean microfiber cloth to wash the glass and old black and white newspapers to dry it without leaving streaks.

Soundproof windows can be energy efficient, depending on the window type and manufacturer. Overall, triple-pane windows are more energy efficient than double-pane windows. However, according to the U.S. Department of Energy, a window’s energy-efficiency level is determined by multiple factors, including the frame material, if there’s any low-emissivity (low-E) glass, and the addition of spacers.

Yes, replacing windows can boost your home’s resale value by improving its curb appeal, energy efficiency, and comfort. The return on investment (ROI) varies depending on the types of windows you install, but most homeowners see an ROI of around 60% to 70% of the cost of the window installation, according to the Remodeling 2024 Cost vs. Value Report
