"The installation crew was Five Star. Removing all windows downstairs/ Upstairs on a 3000 sq ft house was a big job. These fellows were prompt, meticulous, professional in every respect. I was in the trades for over 40 years; watching this team was like watching a ballet. Synchronized, efficient, every step counted. Thank you Access Windows for sending a terrific crew and a job well done."

"Scott came to fix the old windows. He made the inspection  and told me that the windows were not repairable. That he could charge me a fee  for a temporary fix but that I needed new windows.   Whether I got them from him or not didn't matter. He said that I should wait until I could afford  new windows. In the mean time, a leak sprung in an adjacent wall and I said I didn't  know where to begin to fix that problem and he made some recommendations to alleviate that problem. He was so helpful and I didn't give him my business. As soon as I could afford the windows I will call Charbonneau's to replace the windows. He is Honest and sincere.

"They were quick to respond to my email inquiry but unfortunately I didn't meet their minimum job requirement. They were very apologetic and I did appreciate it very much. Eventually I plan on replacing my windows and I would definitely reach out to them again."

Customers say: Quality work

"Lewis was prompt and professional. This project entailed removal of bubbled UV film on the windows that was at least 40 years old and replacement with new. He carefully explained UV options and presented written quotes for two different films. I asked him for a second quote for additional windows and then a third! He promptly responded with no complaints. It s a full day job with two men. Bonus he offers a lowest price guarantee but it wasn t necessary since his was the best price of three contractors. I recommend."

Windows questions, answered by experts

Impact windows can last between 10 and 40 years, depending on how much wear and tear they receive. This is roughly within the range for standard windows; standard windows tend to last between 15 and 50 years. You can extend your windows’ lifespans by performing regular maintenance on them and ensuring they are installed correctly.

Yes, you can enlarge windows in a brick house. Your masonry contractor will need to cut away exterior brick to make space for the larger window, and you may also need to consult a structural engineer to make sure the window is properly supported inside the frame of the house.

There are a few reasons your crank windows might not close. First, determine if your window crank is working properly and opening and closing the window when you turn it. If it’s not, the crank may need replacing, cleaning, or lubricating. Another reason your windows aren’t closing could be dirt and debris in the window hinges or sash. Finally, make sure your window lock operator is set in the unlocked position and isn’t blocking the window from fully closing. If you’re still having trouble closing your window, it may be worth consulting a local window contractor.

Tinting your windows will make your house darker since it will prevent some sunlight from getting inside. While you can choose a window film that is on the lighter side, there will still be reduced sunlight. If natural light is important to you, tinted windows might not be the best choice for your home.

Yes, egress windows can significantly add value to a home. By making basement and attic areas safer and more livable, they allow you to market these spaces as finished living areas, which increases your property's value. Many homeowners can recover the full installation cost, with some sources citing a return on investment of around 70%. The exact value added depends on your specific home, location, and adherence to local building codes. Beyond financial value, egress windows enhance functionality by adding natural light and comfort. They are also a crucial safety feature, often mandated by building codes to serve as an emergency exit.
