"The Xtra Care team was incredible to work with from start to finish. They helped design a patio that would be beautiful and functional for our space, taking care to make sure no detail of the design was missed. The installation was done expertly--each member of the crew was a perfectionist, working with care and detail to ensure it turned out beautifully. Highly recommend this company!"

"After moving into our new home the only thing lacking was a back patio that was adequate to sit and bar-b-que on. The original patio had a sun room addition built over the patio which only left a patio of 3' by 11'. Out of all the estimates we received, American Custom Hardscapes was the most reasonable. And what really stood out was the estimators ideas on how the patio could be constructed to blend in with the existing patio. Once the construction commenced everything fell into place perfectly. As the lead workers stated for all of them, "I want you to be very proud of this patio and I'm making it as though it was my own." I can not say enough about how happy we are with the completed project and would not hesitate to highly recommend American Custom Hardscapes. Michael and Terry Akridge"

"I have used this company before, for a patio at our old house, so when I moved and so I would need a new sidewalk I knew who to call. Derek, the sales person and estimator, arrived right on time and was very professional in suggesting a design for the new sidewalk. He also suggested that we could use some of the existing flagstone to build a pad for our trash cans around the side of the house. they told me they estimated the work would be done at the end of August, but they actually came out two weeks early to do the work. on a hot day, the team worked hard and was very efficient and precise. Mr. Morgado the supervisor was there at the beginning and we discussed and confirmed the work to be done...then he gave clear instructions to the crew. They did a super job, and it looks terrific...attractive and professional. Santos the crew leader confirmed things with me before doing them, like how to handle a tricky step up from the driveway. We are very pleased with the sidewalk and have gotten several compliments on it."

"We had an excellent experience. They came out and gave us a very fair quote. I felt no pressure while deciding on what design we wanted. They day of installation could not have gone any smoother. They are a very professional competent team. The fence is exactly what I had hoped for, we now have a little oasis of a backyard."

"Jose and his patio paver crew are the ultimate professionals who deliver what they promise, at a fair price and in a timely manner. They first repaired uneven pavers due to tree root growth, and then they power washed and resealed the entire patio, using polymetric sand. Our patio looks and feels like new! We are very happy customers."

"It went well! Jesus and his partner showed up right on time. I had ordered this patio cover from the manufacturer and was thinking about doing it myself, but it was sufficiently complicated that I was pretty sure it'd be too much for me. The cost for the 21.8'x12' was about $2200. I showed the guys the instructions and walked them through my understanding of how the install should go, as well as pointing out my concerns about a slightly tricky part where the patio cover would intersect with a corner of the house. The guys didn't seem at all concerned and got to work (in the blazing hot sun). I had to hustle out and get some supplies a few times, two trips for flashing (first type was not what they needed), and one trip to purchase screws/nuts/washers as the manufacturer screwed up and sent only a few when about 50 were needed. At the end of the day they did a great job, and the patio cover looks and performs great. I'd been quoted a total of 12-16 hours of labor (the estimator came out for a $50 fee which was applied to the cost when I agreed to it), and it actually turned out to be 18, so the cost was higher than I'd hoped. Not too bad though. I'd say as far as the work done it was very high quality. My only complaint was that the instructions called for calking during several points in the install, and I'd provided plenty of calk. To my surprise the guys didn't use any (contrary to the instructions), so that could be an issue for me later on. I'll get on the room and do a little calking myself (for what I can reach...which may not be enough). Bottom line, very happy."

Patios questions, answered by experts

Yes, transforming a deck into a sunroom is an absolute possibility. Building a sunroom involves framing in the deck area with walls, adding windows, and affixing a roof. This project is not an easy task, but it does provide a stylish addition to your house. Not all deck designs support this type of renovation project, so consult a professional deck builder before beginning.

Yes, a screened-in porch will increase your property taxes because it has a foundation and is considered a permanent improvement to your land. The exact amount your taxes will go up depends on the value of your existing home, the value added by the screened-in porch, the size of the structure, your location, and more.

Yes, enclosing a patio to create a sunroom or three-season room is often a good idea that adds value to your home. This project increases your home's usable square footage and creates a versatile space for relaxing or entertaining that is filled with natural light and can be used in various weather conditions. Homeowners may see an average return on investment (ROI) of around 70%. The final value added will depend on factors such as the quality of the materials, the level of finish, and the amount of yard space that remains after the enclosure.

Yes, you can build a sunroom addition to your home despite living in a cold climate. Make sure to use high-quality insulation and windows and to supplement with sufficient heating from your HVAC system. The windows in the sunroom allow enough natural light into the room to help heat it most times without having to use the furnace. Even a small electric fireplace can heat the sunroom well enough.

Sustainable materials and energy-efficient designs support greener construction options.
