"We had them clean the inside/outside/screens and sills, it was night and day how much better we could see afterwards. I didn't realize how dirty all of our windows were. The used just water on the windows too, I was shocked that no streaks were present afterwards. I will be looking to do this more often in the future and would not hesitate to use Virginia Window Cleaners again."

"I was very happy with response from Eddis. He gave me a quote upfront and followed it up with an invoice via email. I paid him half at the beginning and another half when he came back to install the window. He was very professional and respectful of my house. I will definitely use A.R. Glass again if I have window repair needs."

"Pleasant team, worked quickly, did a great job. I’m amazed how much better the windows look. They handled all our screens carefully, cleaned windows inside and out on upper and lower floors and were very careful with all our shrubs and plants. I will call this company every time I want to clean windows!"

"They did a nice job. It was done neatly and pretty quick. It was fine. They did a great job. It was a reasonable price. Once we set the date, everything went accordingly. He was right on time, like the beginning of the window, and the work was done pretty quickly."

"A young and energetic crew (in attached photo) arrived on time (9 a.m.) and worked through lunch to complete our new Bay window by 3 p.m. All materials and workmanship are first rate. Color match on the exterior window trim was perfect! I had lots of little requests on touch-up detail work, and they met every challenge. All our questions were answered with a full demo on how the window features, sliding windows and screens, work. We look forward to their return for a second project."

"Glass Impressions did a wonderful job of cleaning all 19 windows in our home, inside & out, including the inside sills, screens and also 2 glass storm doors. Mr. Waters and his team are very good at what they do. They were very reasonable. I plan to use them again, as needed."

Windows questions, answered by experts

In Washington, hidden costs during window replacement or repair often arise from permit requirements, especially in historic neighborhoods. Older homes may need lead paint testing or abatement, which can add steps to the process. Structural repairs to window frames or surrounding walls are sometimes necessary once old windows are removed. Additionally, arranging for debris disposal and managing parking or delivery logistics can result in further unanticipated expenses.

Helpful?

In Washington, homeowners should consider if their property is in a historic district, as this can affect window material and style choices. Local climate factors like humidity and seasonal temperature swings may influence the best time for window installation. Security needs, noise reduction, and available energy efficiency incentives are also important to review before starting your window project.

Helpful?

In Washington, you’ll encounter several types of window service professionals: full-service window replacement companies that manage projects from start to finish, historic restoration experts who specialize in preserving original features, general contractors for broader renovations, and window repair specialists for targeted fixes. Some contractors also focus on energy-efficient window installation, helping homeowners meet local rebate criteria and improve insulation.

Helpful?

Before starting window service in Washington, verify if your home is subject to historic district rules or HOA guidelines, and secure any necessary permits early. Schedule required inspections in advance and plan for parking or material storage, especially in dense neighborhoods. Assess for potential lead paint in older homes, and obtain multiple quotes from local window contractors to ensure you’re prepared for all project requirements.

Helpful?

Your Washington home is likely a strong candidate for window installation or repair if you notice drafts, condensation between panes, or difficulty operating windows. Properties with single-pane or aging windows, especially those built before the 1980s, often benefit most. If you live in a historic area or a condo, check for specific guidelines, as these can impact your options and project scope.
