2015 years of experience

At Connecticut Custom Creations™, we specialize in transforming kitchens, bathrooms, basements, and attics into beautiful, functional spaces tailored to your needs. We take great pride in helping people build their dream homes, a core value that drives everything we do. As an owner-operated business with over a decade of experience, I bring seasoned expertise to every project, no matter the size. Whether it’s a small renovation or a large-scale remodel, we’re committed to delivering exceptional results with care and precision.

"Dustin and CCC did wonderful work creating a new bathroom and remodeling a bedroom for our house. What was most positive was Dustin’s energetic interest in the project, dedication to seeing the project through to make it come out with high quality, and persistently spirited good will. There were two aspects that didn’t work quite optimally: (1) The crew took much longer to finish than they promised (the original time was “1-month +” but over two months passed and there were still lingering issues---see below.) If you hire them, I recommend having it written into the contract exactly when it will start and end, including a specification of what the consequences will be if the job isn’t done on time. (2) They didn’t know what to do with our laminated wood floors. They needed to put down protection for the dining room floor which was damaged by the construction traffic, and they had trouble patching and refinishing the floor in the bedroom after removing a wall. When I asked Dustin to address (2), to his credit he was ready to bring in a floor refinishing specialist to fix the issues at a very favorable price to us. At that point, unfortunately, we couldn’t afford the interruption it would cause to have this repair done at that moment. In response, Dustin gave us a discount so we can address these issues with a profession flooring company in the future when we’ll have a good opportunity to vacate the house for this purpose. I recommend that if you need wood floor work done, you make sure there is an agreement in the contract to have somebody with wood floor expertise address that part. In all, Dustin was generous and willing to try to work with us when there were issues. I know that his company has also been generous about helping people who were in need in the past. This is a quality that I particularly admire in a company, so we still feel very positive toward CCC, but I have identified the issues we had in hopes that they won’t be issues for other clients in the future."

"Beware of shipping issues with this company. Ordered an ice maker installation kit on 10/10/25. Shipping was due no later than 10/20 according to company and FedEx tracking. FedEx tracking showed the package at their facility for 8 days without moving beginning on 10/15. Called FedEx 3 times. Each time they said they cannot find package and I have to contact shipper. Shipper has to make a claim, they will not mark it as lost. Called Appliance Parts Pros twice. Each time they say FedEx has to mark package lost before they will do anything. They also state they have to wait 14 days from them before doing anything because of their contract with FedEx. I don't care about their contract, I want what was ordered and paid for. Just going in circles with them and FedEX. If they shipped after 14 days it would be 22 days from that point, 32 days from the date of order if they shipped it that day. We've built a business around keeping people warm in the winter, cool in the summer and helping them breathe easier. We've also built a reputation for quality work - putting the same skill and attention to detail into every job, large or small.

"The engineer Fitzgerald did an excellent job assessing my needs for a second floor condo and as a result my unit has been at 70 degrees all summer. And this has been a very hot summer. I am so grateful. And my electricity bill has been $300 less this summer."

Connecticut Air Systems, located in Milford, Connecticut is your complete source for heating, air conditioning, sheet metal, air purification and humidification systems in both residential and commercial applications. Our dedicated staff of licensed, thoroughly trained technicians install and service quality systems from Bryant, Thermopride and other major manufacturers. Every system we install is fully warrantied. Connecticut Air Systems is totally committed to a high standard of professional service and customer satisfaction. It is this commitment that has made Connecticut Air Systems one of the leading suppliers of heating, air conditioning and air treatment systems in the area.

"Let me say at the outset that I was impressed by the professionalism, efficiency and courtesy of all the staff members of Connecticut Air Systems that I dealt with. I called Connecticut Air Systems for an estimate to replace my 40-year-old HVAC system and made an appointment for Tony (the owner) to come out to provide an estimate. He came by on 9/22. While he was gathering the information, I asked if they would rewire the thermostat to have include a common wire so I could install a Nest Thermostat. He said they would do that. I asked if they could supply the thermostat or if I should, and he told me, either way. I asked what the timing might be, and Tony said he was booking out into November and December as many people were replacing old systems. He said my job could be done in a day, and he might able to work it in earlier. After he left, I got another estimate from my heating oil vendor. Their representative said his company did not install smart thermostats, but could check if they would rewire the system so that I could. It didn’t matter, as his estimate was much higher than that from Connecticut Air Systems and didn’t mention the thermostat rewiring. I contracted with Connecticut Air Systems on 10/16 and they arranged to install the system on 10/27 (much sooner than I expected.) The entire installation went well and took about 6 or 7 hours. In the evening a day after the installation, I smelled something burning and saw white smoke coming out of the furnace. It appeared to surround the burner. It did not occur again later that evening or the next morning, but I called Connecticut Air Systems anyway at about 9am that morning. Tony and a technician arrived about 30 minutes later. I told Tony that I wasn’t sure if I should call as the installer told me I might smell some burning right after the installation, and I wasn’t sure if this smoke was part of that. Also, the problem only occurred once and seemed to have gone away. Tony said I was right to call. The technician tested system and found that there was not enough draft in the chimney. Tony explained that the low chimney draft would not be a problem during cold weather when the furnace would be on a lot and the chimney liner would heat up to create more draft. I think he said this tends to be a problem in older homes. Mine is about 70 years old. (I did an online search later and found that many people experience flue problems when installing a new furnace as the new furnace may not be compatible with the existing flue pipe.) Tony explained that when the weather is not that cold (as was the situation that day), the furnace is on for less time and the chimney doesn’t get warm enough to create enough draft causing back pressure on the burner. This can result in oil seeping out of oil inlet tube and burning to create the white smoke. The technician spent about a half hour adjusting the burner. Tony said to call if it happened again. On 11/5 an extended warm front moved in and the weather became very warm (in the 60s) for over a week so the furnace didn’t operate a lot. On the morning of 11/7, the furnace smoked again, although a lot less than the first time. I called and spoke to Tony. He said he was going to order a new control for the furnace that would turn on the fan before the burner started to get the draft going and also turn it off after the burner stopped to keep the draft going. I expected that it would be a few days for him to get the device, but about 3 hours later Tony’s assistant called me and asked if the technician could come by in an hour to install it. He came and did the work. The weather remained unusually warm the rest of the day and for the next week with no recurrence of the problem. Nor did the problem reoccur after the weather turned colder and then warmer again over the next month. I was very impressed by the quick response of Tony and his team to this issue. They demonstrated excellent customer care. The entire process from initial call for an estimate through scheduling, installation and follow-up exceeded my expectations."

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

You may never need an AC recharge if there are no leaks. However, if your AC unit has a leak that cannot be patched appropriately, you’ll need an AC recharge every time the freon level drops low enough that it disrupts your system—this could be once every two to three years. It all depends on the size and frequency of the leak.

As mentioned above, not all HVAC Schrader valves are necessarily the same. While the valve core and pin or spring size on Schrader valves used for HVAC are generally similar, the valves are not all universal and interchangeable. The size of Schrader valves varies depending on whether it's used in an air conditioner, bicycle tire, or motor vehicle tire.

An HVAC unit, like a furnace, air conditioner, or heat pump, produces warm or hot air. The air ducts serve as the passages to help heat or cool air from the HVAC unit flow through the home. Air ducts are just one part of the overall HVAC system.

HVAC systems should be serviced annually, no matter which type of system you have. This service visit should include an inspection, cleaning, and regular maintenance tasks, like flushing the boiler. The best time to do this varies on the system. For heating-based systems, call in a technician sometime during the fall. For air conditioners, go for the spring. Basically, schedule the service call before you plan on amping up HVAC system usage for the season.

Yes, you can put an AC unit on the roof of your home or commercial building. For proper installation, you’ll need to ensure the roof surface is flat, it’s accessible for maintenance and cleaning, and an AC installation pro agreed that your home is a candidate for package units. Don’t forget to consider the climate in your area, as homes that experience frequent tropical storms or hurricanes may not benefit from this type of system.
