"Excellent experience during a bad situation. We discovered our well head was leaking on a Sunday afternoon. Joe, the owner, came out the same day to assess the problem and told us how to avoid burning out the water pump. Joe and his crew came out the next day. Repaired the problem, with no surprises. He took the time to explain what was wrong and what he needed to do. Very professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. Everyone at Old Faithful Pump Co is friendly and it was pleasure doing business with them. We recommend Old Faithful Pump Company to everyone."

"Inspection of a previously installed sump pump system (primarily the sump pump). Inspection found that it seized up and wouldn't have functioned. Replacement made - and very fortunately - since when the pump is needed, it IS needed. It wouldn't have been good to have a flooded basement or have an upcoming flooded basement."

"Tony and Burt arrived when they said they would, even called to let me now they were on their way. They checked the water pressure outside first to see if there was an issue.  The pressure was fine but then I took them to the basement and showed them the pipe.  They explained what the reducer valve does and the reason for the green on the pipes. They replaced the valve immediately and the pipes as well since they said what I saw on the outside, was on the inside as well..yuck! They turned the water back on and then ran the faucets in the house to get all the air out.  All was well until I tried to turn the kitchen faucet on 'high' but the same pressure came out.  It seemed weak and not as strong as before.  I called Tony again and he returned the next day to adjust the pressure, even showed me how!  That is professional service at its best.

"While other companies spent years trying to figure out what was wrong with my system and after much money spent on â fixesâ , Eastern Water found a small piston dysfunction and the fix was simple and not expensive. I plan to switch to them for my routine maintenance. Additionally, they were responsive, efficient and reliable. The service person was very knowledgeable and explained everything to me."

"I really liked CT Basement systems. The sales rep walked me through the process of the basement SaniDry I had installed. When the installer came it turned out that I didn’t need all of the duct work and I was able to save a few hundred bucks. The installer was very professional, neat and helpful . I definitely will hire this company again. Customer service even followed up with me a few days later and had to remind me to register the system (good thing because I had forgotten)."

"Sump pump died and water overflowed on weekend. Renz spoke with us promptly on the phone, came to the house, installed pump for reasonable cost (in accord with our telecon), taped the pump's electrical wire to make a "neat" job, checked outflow pipe and drainage, and cleaned up the work area fairly well. Weeks later and no problem."

"Matt called soon after I posted my Well Pump project. Scheduled me that day and sent Brian and Ed out that morning before noon. They inspected the system and diagnosed the problem. They replaced a bad pressure switch to get the water back on and suggested replacing my old pressure tank to extend the pumps life. Excellant work and highly recommend them."

"Could not have gone smoother. Tech was very respectful of me and the house, did a fantastic installation and cleaned up everything as if they were never there. Gave me a full walk through and didn't leave until all was tested. New shut off valve, new flue, rehung expansion tank in a better location. Salesman stopped by during the installation to check on things. As it turns out, I believe they were the first to contact me as well after the listing and their price held up. All A+!"

Sump Pump Installation questions, answered by experts

Costs range from $300 to $1,200, depending on the pump type, issue, and installation complexity.

Grinder pumps alone cost $300 on average. The average cost to install a new grinder pump is between $2,000 and $4,000, including the pump and labor. This price can also change based on the exact type of grinder pump you choose, labor costs in your area, and the power system your home currently has.

The most common cause of a clogged sump pump is natural debris buildup. As water enters the sump pit, it can carry small pieces of debris that build up over time, or the debris can get caught in the filter. If you forget to cover the pit after cleaning the sump pump and pit, debris can also collect in the pit. Corrosion on the metal discharge pipe can also clog the pump. Additionally, if your pipes freeze, it can prevent water from draining properly and cause a clog.

To test for toilet leaks, use water coloring in the water tank and see if the water slips into the bowl from the tank. This test will indicate if there’s a problem with the flapper or refill tube. You can also put water coloring in the bowl of the toilet to see if there is a leak there. If there is, you should see the colored water on the outside of the toilet bowl or on the floor.

Sump pumps remove excess water from the lowest point of your home, which prevents flooding. When a sump pit fills with water, a sump pump pushes that water outside of the basin and into an exterior discharge pipe. From there, the water flows away from your home, so it doesn’t damage your foundation.
