"Inspection of a previously installed sump pump system (primarily the sump pump). Inspection found that it seized up and wouldn't have functioned. Replacement made - and very fortunately - since when the pump is needed, it IS needed. It wouldn't have been good to have a flooded basement or have an upcoming flooded basement."

"Eco Flo Plumbing spent a lot of time preparing an estimate for me. The company also made two visits to my home for thorough inspections of my job site. The price quoted to me was fair and reasonable, and the sales person was extremely personable! I Wholeheartedly Recommend EcoFlow !"

"We hired Mr. Rooter to connect our home to town sewer system. He responded quickly after I submitted a request through Home Advisor. He was on time, and completed the job in an efficient amount of time. After completing the installation, the yard was leveled, reseeded and bushes replanted. The price quoted was reasonable for the amount of work that needed to be done and he stayed within the quote. I highly recommend him."

"I had a problem with my garage getting quite a bit of water in rainy weather. William and his employees came as scheduled, did a great job, cleaned up well and completed the project on time and budget. They installed a sub-pump and drainage system and everything came out great. I would recommend them and plan on using them again in the future when I am replacing my driveway."

Sump Pump Installation questions, answered by experts

Inspect the pump annually, test the float switch, and clean the discharge line to ensure efficient operation.

Every three to four months, you should clean any dirt and debris off of your sump pump. You should also check the inlet screen (at the bottom of the pump) to make sure that it isn’t blocked. On top of that, you should deep clean your sump pump once per year—or hire a sump pump pro to do it for you.

A sewage ejector pump is necessary if you have any plumbing fixtures, such as a bathroom, laundry room, or sink, located below the level of your home's main sewer line. Standard plumbing relies on gravity to drain wastewater and solid waste into the municipal sewer system or a septic tank. For fixtures below this level, like those in a basement, gravity cannot move the waste upward. The ejector pump provides the force needed to pump the sewage up to the main line. Without one, wastewater from below-ground fixtures would back up, potentially causing a sewage overflow and flooding. If all of your plumbing is on the main floor or higher, gravity is sufficient and an ejector pump is not needed.

A sump pump battery backup can typically run for 6 to 24 hours. The factors that affect its runtime include the battery capacity and pump usage.

When purchasing your backup system, take these factors into consideration to determine which system is best for your home. If you live in an area with frequent and long-lasting power outages, consider a longer-lasting backup battery.

First, you can try unplugging the two sump pump cords, one for the motor and one for the float switch, then plugging them back in to reset the sump pump. You can also reset the sump pump by turning it off and back on at the breaker. Many sump pumps have a reset button, which you can press and hold for a few seconds to reset the device.
