"I rarely do reviews but I was so impressed with George and his crew. George was so professional; he discussed clearly how he was going to paint the areas, what & why he used certain paints & paint products and the time he needed to do the job. His crew is just as nice, helpful & always prompt. I have used several painters in the last 23 years and honestly his work is the best I have ever seen. George clearly takes pride in doing a great job. My only regret; that I didn't meet George & his crew sooner because I probably would of avoided the damage to some areas of my deck that George pointed out and helped me treat. I will definitely be using A+ Painting again."

"Patrick and his crew did a beautiful job painting our 1912 cedar shingle house. The shingles had years of old chipping paint and plenty of sun damage and they spent tons of time carefully prepping the surface, sanding, patching, and more, then coating with tinted primer and finally high quality paint. The house looks beautiful and even more importantly it is going to last longer with their thorough work. Patrick also gave good guidance on color scheme based on years of experience which we melded with our vision and landed on a combination that worked really well. Highly recommend due to the careful quality work they did on a house with lots of challenges."

"Luis and his crew did a great job for us. We had them paint our kitchen and bathroom. We were staying here while the work was going on. Always respectful and unobtrusive. In addition to the painting they refinished and sealed our large deck. Taking extra care with all the prep work. 5 Stars! Definitely my first call the next time we need a painter"

"Quite satisfied with the exterior house painting done by licensed and insured Cristoff Painting and Decorating. Owner on time, gave estimate on the spot. I interviewed all of his references, all praised him and his crew. He and crew courteous, tidy, punctual and fulfilled every task as detailed in contract. I would hire Cristoff Painting again without hesitation."

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

You’ll need to restrain your deck when you notice fading, cracking, peeling, or mold and mildew over a moderate to large area, or when it’s become especially difficult to clean. As for how often to stain a deck, plan to do it every two to three years or whenever you start to notice extended damage.

You don't need to seal your deck after painting it because most exterior paints are waterproof and weather-resistant. While stealing is not necessary, it can add an additional layer of protection.

Wood stain is typically dry to the touch within 6 to 12 hours, but it is not fully cured at this point. You should wait at least 24 hours before applying a second coat or a protective finish. For surfaces like decks, avoid walking on them for at least 24 to 48 hours, and wait even longer before placing furniture. The full curing process can take from 24 hours to one week, depending on the type of stain. Factors like high humidity and cold temperatures can extend drying and curing times, so it's wise to allow for extra time in these conditions.

It’s necessary for paint to completely dry before exposure to rain, and that drying time varies by the type of paint used. Oil-based paint takes 6 to 8 hours to dry on average, meaning that’s the minimum time needed between the last brush stroke and the first raindrop. Latex paint dries faster at around 1 hour, and acrylic paint is even quicker, usually drying in about 30 minutes. If rain is in the forecast, check the paint manufacturer's details before laying on a new coat.

Yes, you can and should paint or stain pressure-treated wood, as this helps prevent the surface from cracking. However, it is crucial to wait for the wood to dry out completely from the chemical treatment process before applying a finish. If the wood is still wet, the paint will not adhere properly. The drying time can range from weeks to six months. To test if the wood is ready, drip some water onto a board. If the water is absorbed, the wood is dry enough for painting or staining. If the water beads up on the surface, it needs more time to dry. You can build with the wood while it's still wet, but you must wait for it to dry before painting.
