"Patrick was very patient and provided quick responses to ALL my questions. I had many since this was the first time for us to paint/stain the exterior of our house. He provided great suggestions for paint/stain color and explained the process /steps that would be taken to complete the project. Because the exterior of my house is wood shingles, it was a more complicated process to pressure wash and treat the wood before staining and painting. Patrick's team was very professional, courteous and did outstanding work. They completed the work in the estimated time and cleaned up very well when they were finished. I would definitely hire them again."

"Entire project went great! Entire exterior of home painted. Omar is great to work with, listened to my desires and answered my questions. He was available when I called and even if not he returned calls immediately. His price was outstanding in comparison to other painters who bid on the project. He cleaned up beautifully after the project. I would definitely hire him again. I could not be happier."

"Luis and his crew did a great job for us. We had them paint our kitchen and bathroom. We were staying here while the work was going on. Always respectful and unobtrusive. In addition to the painting they refinished and sealed our large deck. Taking extra care with all the prep work. 5 Stars! Definitely my first call the next time we need a painter"

"Robert was able to gracefully deal with three different condo owners while painting a hallway and front entryway. His crew was impeccable, and the job was done on time. The hallway looks great and we would all use him for future projects."

"Excellent work on nine different locations in San Francisco over a period of several years. Buildings were Victorian, Edwardian and Spanish Revival. Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

Many decking oils can help slow down algae growth, but they don't completely stop it. These oils work by sealing the wood, which reduces moisture and, therefore, algae growth. Some decking oils also help protect against UV damage, but they need to be reapplied according to the manufacturer’s instructions to ensure the decking stays protected.

To make sure the paint won’t bubble as you apply it, make sure to paint on a day that’s cooler than 85 degrees Fahrenheit. When the temperature is too high, the paint won’t dry evenly, which can result in bubbles forming on the surface. Another way to prevent paint from bubbling is to clean the walls, apply primer, and let everything dry completely before you begin.

Whether to paint or stain a deck depends on your personal preference for appearance and budget. Stain provides a natural look with a range of undertones, is typically less expensive, and may only require one coat, but it does not last as long as paint. Paint offers a sleeker finish with a virtually unlimited color palette. Both options will protect your deck from outdoor elements like rain, snow, and general wear and tear.

You can apply stain over peeling stain, but it’s not a good idea. Your old stain will get in the way of your new stain bonding to the wood, so you’re likely going to see the same issue again shortly after application. Your best option is to sand off the old stain and clean the surface thoroughly before applying new stain.

For homes in areas with extreme weather, high heat, or intense sun exposure, high-quality acrylic paint is the best option. Acrylic paint is durable, resistant to both heat and cold, and provides a protective barrier with excellent UV resistance. For best results, look for acrylics that contain natural earth pigments, which are better suited for resisting sun damage. While oil-based paint is also durable, it can be prone to fading in high heat and can become too viscous to apply easily in cold temperatures. Additionally, choosing a neutral or light color like gray, beige, or white can help, as these colors absorb less heat than darker shades.
