"I called on a Tuesday and by Friday they gave me an estimate to install which I accepted. They installed my unit on Monday only 6 days after my initial call. They were on time and very polite and informative. They were reasonably priced and very efficient. I was impressed which is not an easy thing to do. I would definitely recommend this small business and would like to say I really appreciate the guys hard work and dedication especially in the heat of August. Thanks again!! Juliana Smith"

"I needed an oil change done on my Mercedes. Dave the owner made sure he had all the right spec fluids for my car when I go there. Connie the friendly receptionist was friendl and efficient.. I was in and out quick all fluids topped off, and potential problems brought to my attention, no sales pitch just good old fashioned honest people. We'll do business with them again. Highly Recommended

"Very positive experience with Andrew at DNA. He provided me multiple solutions to help correct our heating system issues given the age of our home. We ultimately replaced our unit and I have never seen more care taken by a contractor to help keep our home clean and free from dirt and dust. Every time DNA would enter my home they wear shoe covers; when they replaced the furnace they installed temporary plastic sheeting walls to isolate the mess from the install to a minimal area which they also cleaned after completion. As I mentioned, the cleanest contract work I have ever had. Additionally, very well mannered and great attitude. I would hire them again without shopping for quotes."

"The representative from Baltica arrived on time. Quickly diagnosed the problem (where previous plumbers could not), fixed the water pressure valve, advised me on do's and don't in use of the Noritz system. He also advised me that I should change the cap on the water heater, which was confirmed by the Noritz representative when I called the company. I would recommend Baltica any day to any one. Knowledgeable and courteous technicians. Reasonable prices. If you have tank-less water heater, don't use just any plumber, use Noritz certified technician. My heaters were previously incorrectly installed by licensed plumber, but he did not have experience with tankless."

"The most professional, nice, clean and knowledgable crew came on time, had all of the equipment, had a can do attitude and it was a painless, great experience. I highly recommend this company to anyone. I have never worked with such a great crew and we got more than we could have hoped for by going with them. They were a one stop answer to the awful process of trying to decide what type of air/heat to install in an old house. They took care of it all and the price was absolutely fair!! Rudy, Joe and Matt are amazing - they really impressed us! We had several contractors come and the process was so laborious with needing to have sub contractors, workers, etc. When Matt came to give us the estimate, he told us exactly what we needed, how much it would cost and how long it would take. He brought a crew so it could all be done and each one was amazing with the care and knowledge they have. It was perfect and like I said, a one stop shop. One meeting, one day installation and done!!!"

"The first company we had out to diagnose the issue with our air conditioner quoted us $11,000.00. They said is was our compressor and our entire “system” would need to be replaced. By absolute chance we found Joe on Instagram. Long story short, he saved us $9,000.00. There are not that many companies in the heating and air industry that you can trust. Not only is Joe honest, he is thorough, goes the extra mile and is just an all around great guy!"

Install Boiler questions, answered by experts

Most propane boilers last 15 to 20 years with regular maintenance and proper care. The lifespan depends on the quality of the unit, proper installation, and the level of maintenance. Investing in annual service can maximize longevity and efficiency. Routine inspections and timely repairs prevent early breakdown, ensuring your boiler heats your home for years to come.

Hydronic and standard electric baseboard heaters differ in how they operate, their cost, and their performance. Standard convection heaters use electric coils to heat the air directly, while hydronic heaters warm a contained liquid like water or oil, which then radiates heat into the room.

In terms of cost and efficiency, hydronic heaters usually have a higher upfront price but are more energy-efficient and cheaper to run over time. This is because the heated liquid retains warmth, allowing the heater to continue providing heat for a while after the thermostat turns it off. In contrast, electric heaters provide heat more quickly but are less efficient.

Ultimately, the better choice depends on your priorities. If you need a room to heat up fast and have a lower initial budget, an electric heater might be suitable. If long-term energy savings are more important and you don't mind a slower heat-up time, a hydronic heater is likely the better option.

If you have a closed-system boiler that requires an expansion tank, you cannot safely operate it without one, as this risks extensive damage or even explosions. You must find a way to make room for the installation. Options include repositioning the boiler, rerouting the boiler piping to a more open area, or performing minor remodeling to create the necessary space. If you are unsure whether your boiler needs an expansion tank or how to best accommodate one, it's recommended to have a local heating service professional assess the situation. They can confirm the requirement and suggest the most practical solution.

A home radiator works by using radiation and convection to transfer heat throughout your home. Electric radiators use metal to conduct heat and warm the air, which then rises to warm the room. Steam and hot water radiators work with a boiler and piping system to pump thermal energy throughout the home. Hot water radiators use a boiler to heat the water before circulating it to the radiator, while steam heating radiator systems convert the heated water to steam before circulating it out. When the water or steam cools, it travels back to the boiler to be heated again.

Chilled water HVAC systems use water instead of traditional components and refrigerants. They're more common in commercial settings than residential ones but are slowly being adopted by some homebuilders to cool homes. As the name implies, the system keeps the water chilled at 40 degrees and circulates it through water coils. The water absorbs the heat from your home and drains outdoors. Condo apartments are more likely to have chilled water HVAC than single-family homes because this system is designed to cool several rooms or large areas individually.
