"Ken, the owner, came out and did the estimate personally. We decided we needed to get 3 estimates and asked the others to quote the same equipment Ken did. We had an old Carrier system which had given us no end of trouble installed by one of the big HVAC companies in town which I will never use again. We opted for a top of the line Trane system this time. Ken worked with us to adjust his bids to quote the same equipment that the others were quoting. We had Ken come out to do some duct sealing and cold air return enlargement a few years back, so we went to him first. Ken was easy to work with, on time and provided the lowest bid, so we went ahead. The crew showed up on time and installed the system in one day despite allowing for two. They did a thorough job, cleaned up after themselves and were very courteous and considerate. When we had the independent duct seal test done, the tester indicated that he was always happy to inspect their work, since it was consistently well done. When the county inspector came to sign off the permit, he seemed to feel the same way. This is a family company who consistently do good honest work and are easy to work with. We signed up for Golden Aire's maintenance program and they extended the labor warranty to 10 years. One of the other bids we got was from a larger company that sends us postcards pretty regularly even though we have not used them in the past. Their bids were 25-35% higher for the same equipment and they were a real pain to deal with, just getting the bids."

"If you are in a jam, up against the wall, desperate or just plain don't know any other plumbing resource, then call Bonney. They are fast, courteous, professional - and outrageously expensive.
We called for plumbing help Friday AM and they sent someone out Monday. The plumber was here first thing, diagnosed the problem and wrote up a proposal. It was steep, but he was ready to solve all our plumbing problems, one stop and no more fuss - so I approved it.
In less than 90 minutes he had cleared the urinal drain and installed a new kitchen faucet. The faucet is exceptionally ugly, the worst Home Depot model possible. My mistake for accepting his choose A,B or C option. Although he indicated he would have to remove the urinal from the wall to access the drain line, I think he had a change of mind - the drain was rodded through the outlet after all, no removal - about 10 minutes work.
The bill was $1260. The (ugly) faucet was a $100 Home Depot special, call it $260 with steep contractor markup. That means his 90 minutes of labor was around $1,000 or $666 per hour. I wouldn't pay a divorce attorney that kind of money, even if I was Gwyneth Paltrow!
No complaints about the work or the professionalism - but man that price.

My wife and I did a thorough search in getting the best A/C Contractor in the Sacramento area.  The search included Angie?s List, Better Business Bureau, California State Contractor?s License reviews, personal recommendations from neighbors and friends.  After all our searching we ended up going with Diamond Heating and Air.   We signed the contract with Bob Weatherford who is also the owner of Diamond Heating & Air.

Both my wife and I were especially impressed with Bob?s thoroughness in explaining the type of system we really needed, the SEER rating of the equipment, and the best way of replacing the existing outdated  heating and cooling system, inadequate insulation, and faulty duct installation.   These were all good suggestions in transforming our home into a more energy efficient and comfortable environment.   Also, it was pointed out that some of the existing ducts became loose and disconnected.  Fiberglass insulation was blowing into one of the rooms.  The outdated  ducts were installed many years ago, and were poorly installed, wasting lots of energy, and the duct work was hanging too low below the floor joists.  

Bob suggested that the new duct system be relocated and strapped contiguous to the floor joists which would allow us to walk underneath the house so we could better utilize the space for movement and storage.  Another big task involved the installation of new attic insulation.   This was a big job that required the knowledge that Bob has as being a Licensed Building Contractor.  

Again, the thing I appreciated the most was Bob?s honesty and the effort he made to make things right.  Bob and Elaine worked hard to qualify us for the SMUD low interest rate financing and qualify us for the rebates that SMUD and PG&E were offering.  This helped us tremendously in bringing down the costs of the project.    My wife and I are extremely happy that our home now has an excellent home energy assessment from SMUD and PG&E.  We expect that our annual electric savings will be significant.  We are very happy to recommend Diamond Heating & Air to our family and friends.

"The technicians that came to install our HVAC system were super friendly and accommodating to my many requests about locations of the furnace, vent pipes, the condenser wiring, piping, and the condenser itself. When I asked for a 90 degree boot feeding two registers so the piping could stay high, a technician made a run to a store and found them. I want to give a shout out to Danny Aguilar who installed the furnace with Edgar and Victor. Grant Duran with Jose and Richard did an amazing job installing the vent pipes. Finally Adolph Garcia with Gabriel and later several other technicians I previously mentioned all worked to install the AC system (condenser and its plumbing + electrical). They worked late into the day to complete the job. I was very demanding in where I wanted things installed and requested changes on a regular basis but in all cases I was accommodated."

"This was a two day job. The two men, Willie and Jose, who did the work were competent, courteous, and professional. They were responsive to our questions, did a good job of tidying up, and worked diligently. I think the work went very well. Installation was completed yesterday, and so far everything seems to be fine. Willie and Jose were knowledgeable about what had to be done and understood our concerns. "The fireplace installed was very nice and for the most part I was happy with the gas fireplace itself.  The down side of the installation was that finding a source for the electricity required for the firebox left me with two large holes drilled in my bedroom wall in order to reach the fire box to provide the electricity needed for its operation.  I ended up with two holes because the first attempt did not successfully reach the fireplace so another hole was drilled about 1 foot from that.  These holes are about 1" - 2" in size.  The need to drill was discussed prior to the installation and I understood the need to find an electrical source and I agreed with using my bedroom because the original proposed site was right next to the fireplace and would have looked unsightly when completed.  I must admit that I had no idea how unsightly these holes were going to look prior to giving the go ahead.  In retrospect I think they need to do a much better job on the electrical portion of the installation and include using both an electrician to properly wire the box for its electrical needs and a drywall person to repair any sheetrock damage done to complete the installation.  Their proposed use of a cable cover over these large holes doesn't properly address the problem and degrades their workmanship"

"Plumber arrived on time, we went over possible replacement faucets and he went back to shop to get the model I wanted.  He came back within an hour or so and installed the new faucet.  Unfortunately, he didn't have a length of 3/4" hose with which to flush our the hot water line which is partially clogged with rust, etc., so he was unable to perform that part of the requested service and I still have low hot water pressure in the kitchen.
