"Very happy with my experience so far. Goldenaire called back quickly to schedule an estimate, then the owner (Ken Golden) came out personally the next morning and provided a detailed, written estimate with different options to help make things more affordable. He was also very willing and open to answering my questions. (One of the other companies that gave me an estimate just scribbled a few notes down on a piece of paper and seemed reluctant to discuss details or answer questions).
Two days after I gave the go-ahead, the Goldenaire crew was at my door for the installation (at exactly the promised time -- 7 am!). Job was done by around 3 pm. The lead installer Kenny was very courteous and professional. I believe he's the owner's son, and I'm hoping he takes over the business eventually as I would definitely hire him again in the future. Speaking of which, this company included 5 years of labor as part of the system warranty. (The other companies that submitted estimates only included a year of labor).
I won't know how well the system works until this summer, but will update this review if anything about my experience changes.

"They had a good program for heating and A/C like for $100 they come out and check in the fall to make sure the heating is running right and again in the spring to make sure the A/C is working right. "I have an old pressure relief valve replaced today. the service person was great, and the installation went really well. My main complain was the price after I did an online comparison. usually, the PRV installation will cost around $500 on the high end, but Bell Brother charged me $1600 since the new valve does not fit the old pipe, and they needed to redo the pipe. My family has been using bell brother for many years, we trusted their workmanship, but the markup is just too steep to justify. I definitely learned my lesson, for small jobs, will use home-advisor instead."

My wife and I did a thorough search in getting the best A/C Contractor in the Sacramento area.  The search included Angie?s List, Better Business Bureau, California State Contractor?s License reviews, personal recommendations from neighbors and friends.  After all our searching we ended up going with Diamond Heating and Air.   We signed the contract with Bob Weatherford who is also the owner of Diamond Heating & Air.

Both my wife and I were especially impressed with Bob?s thoroughness in explaining the type of system we really needed, the SEER rating of the equipment, and the best way of replacing the existing outdated  heating and cooling system, inadequate insulation, and faulty duct installation.   These were all good suggestions in transforming our home into a more energy efficient and comfortable environment.   Also, it was pointed out that some of the existing ducts became loose and disconnected.  Fiberglass insulation was blowing into one of the rooms.  The outdated  ducts were installed many years ago, and were poorly installed, wasting lots of energy, and the duct work was hanging too low below the floor joists.  

Bob suggested that the new duct system be relocated and strapped contiguous to the floor joists which would allow us to walk underneath the house so we could better utilize the space for movement and storage.  Another big task involved the installation of new attic insulation.   This was a big job that required the knowledge that Bob has as being a Licensed Building Contractor.  

Again, the thing I appreciated the most was Bob?s honesty and the effort he made to make things right.  Bob and Elaine worked hard to qualify us for the SMUD low interest rate financing and qualify us for the rebates that SMUD and PG&E were offering.  This helped us tremendously in bringing down the costs of the project.    My wife and I are extremely happy that our home now has an excellent home energy assessment from SMUD and PG&E.  We expect that our annual electric savings will be significant.  We are very happy to recommend Diamond Heating & Air to our family and friends.

Just one day to take the old furnace away, replace all the old boots and duct work and install the new furnace. They paid a lot of attention not to damage or dirty the floor/carpet. "Our experience with Ray O. Cook went very well!! Our HVAC system was the original when the house was built over 40 years ago. My husband's excellent Do it Yourself skills allowed him to maintain it and keep it running all these years. We received estimates from 5 different companies. Although the other salesman/estimators were good, Paul was the best. He explained all our options more thoroughly than the others and his recommendations for installing the HVAC system for our needs and house size made the most sense.
