"Ken, the owner, came out and did the estimate personally. We decided we needed to get 3 estimates and asked the others to quote the same equipment Ken did. We had an old Carrier system which had given us no end of trouble installed by one of the big HVAC companies in town which I will never use again. We opted for a top of the line Trane system this time. Ken worked with us to adjust his bids to quote the same equipment that the others were quoting. We had Ken come out to do some duct sealing and cold air return enlargement a few years back, so we went to him first. Ken was easy to work with, on time and provided the lowest bid, so we went ahead. The crew showed up on time and installed the system in one day despite allowing for two. They did a thorough job, cleaned up after themselves and were very courteous and considerate. When we had the independent duct seal test done, the tester indicated that he was always happy to inspect their work, since it was consistently well done. When the county inspector came to sign off the permit, he seemed to feel the same way. This is a family company who consistently do good honest work and are easy to work with. We signed up for Golden Aire's maintenance program and they extended the labor warranty to 10 years. One of the other bids we got was from a larger company that sends us postcards pretty regularly even though we have not used them in the past. Their bids were 25-35% higher for the same equipment and they were a real pain to deal with, just getting the bids."

"Of the five businesses I contacted for estimates, I thought the Bonney installer gave me the most honest up-front estimate (although it was also the highest estimate). Some of the businesses would only give me over-the-phone low-ball estimates that were obviously just for the water heater itself, neglecting to mention the extra components that would be needed such as valves, strappings, expansion tank, and an electrical disconnect box, all required for the City permit. And only a couple of businesses, even one who came to the house, bothered to mention the required City permit. The Bonney installer showed up on time with all the required equipment. He removed the old tank and components, prepped the area for the new components, and completed the installation in about five hours. He also cleaned the area thoroughly when he was finished. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the results. It passed the City inspection. And I also think I got a better quality water heater brand which isn't available online or at discount big-box stores."

"Inspector indicated major repairs required due to cracking of the heat exchanger (indicated there were 7 or more hairline cracks) and a crack in the outer plate.  Shut off gas to heater leaving us with no heat.  Sent follow-up "expert" inspector to verify his analysis.  He also indicated heater was unsafe and required extensive repair or replacement.  Required us to sign waver if he turned gas back on.  Estimated $2100 for repair or installation of a new system ($4-8 K).  My basic understanding of the system led me to believe there was no immediate danger as cracks did not lead to fumes entering the house thus we obtained 2nd and 3rd opinions from other heating contractors who conducted an extensive inspection and could not find any cracks in the exchanger.  He indicated the unit was not unsafe and that it could last another 10 years.  He replaced the cracked plate and brought the gas tubing up to code (something Gallagher's had not identified).  The final cost was $360.  We have terminated our annual contract with Gallagher's.

"I have an old pressure relief valve replaced today. the service person was great, and the installation went really well. My main complain was the price after I did an online comparison. usually, the PRV installation will cost around $500 on the high end, but Bell Brother charged me $1600 since the new valve does not fit the old pipe, and they needed to redo the pipe. My family has been using bell brother for many years, we trusted their workmanship, but the markup is just too steep to justify. I definitely learned my lesson, for small jobs, will use home-advisor instead."

"Kermit and his son showed up quickly on the same day I called on a Saturday to replace my water heater and expansion tank. They were both very friendly and professional and performed the exact service I needed without any up-sells or other kind of pressure like a more expensive tank with unnecessary additional warranties. They replaced the old water tank and installed the new one very quickly and I was very happy with the work. Very efficient and professional and I recommend for any plumbing job. Am very happy with my Bradford White 50 gallon water heater and it has been working like a charm for months. My wife and I did a thorough search in getting the best A/C Contractor in the Sacramento area.  The search included Angie?s List, Better Business Bureau, California State Contractor?s License reviews, personal recommendations from neighbors and friends.  After all our searching we ended up going with Diamond Heating and Air.   We signed the contract with Bob Weatherford who is also the owner of Diamond Heating & Air.

Both my wife and I were especially impressed with Bob?s thoroughness in explaining the type of system we really needed, the SEER rating of the equipment, and the best way of replacing the existing outdated  heating and cooling system, inadequate insulation, and faulty duct installation.   These were all good suggestions in transforming our home into a more energy efficient and comfortable environment.   Also, it was pointed out that some of the existing ducts became loose and disconnected.  Fiberglass insulation was blowing into one of the rooms.  The outdated  ducts were installed many years ago, and were poorly installed, wasting lots of energy, and the duct work was hanging too low below the floor joists.  

Bob suggested that the new duct system be relocated and strapped contiguous to the floor joists which would allow us to walk underneath the house so we could better utilize the space for movement and storage.  Another big task involved the installation of new attic insulation.   This was a big job that required the knowledge that Bob has as being a Licensed Building Contractor.  

Again, the thing I appreciated the most was Bob?s honesty and the effort he made to make things right.  Bob and Elaine worked hard to qualify us for the SMUD low interest rate financing and qualify us for the rebates that SMUD and PG&E were offering.  This helped us tremendously in bringing down the costs of the project.    My wife and I are extremely happy that our home now has an excellent home energy assessment from SMUD and PG&E.  We expect that our annual electric savings will be significant.  We are very happy to recommend Diamond Heating & Air to our family and friends.
