"I called Phill's Plumbing, received a quote promptly, and had the work promptly and professionally completed the following day. The work was done quickly and at a fair price, restoring the water pressure in the whole house to the highest level it has ever been. I will always use Phill's Plumbing from this day forward and recommend them highly, especially after some of the less-than-satisfying experiences I've had with other plumbing services in the past. It's great to have a provider you can trust."

"They were good know what they are doing. Have the right equipment for any job. On time, courteous, answer all questions. I sent a picture of my project to the office, and they gave me a max cost to complete the work. Then the actual plumbers came out to make sure about the job. Came out the next morning and completed the job. It took about an hour or so."

"The plumber was prompt, professional, and completed the issue with my toilet in about 30 minutes. The downside was it was an expensive repair due to the $300 service call fee for such a quick fix. The plus was that the Plumber took off $25 as a first time customer ($275 instead of $300), but with the tank parts the total fee was $325."

"This was a difficult project, owing to the no-cripple-wall construction of my house and the ridiculously tight crawl space - less than a foot in critical spots - plus the maze of beams and ducts. I called six or seven plumbers to come out and bid the work and two of them ran screaming (well, not really, they just told me they needed to work up an estimate 'back at the office' and never called back). One guy swore I'd have to rip out a wall AND the floor to get to the pipe. Mr. Rooter didn't propose anything so dramatic. They just said they'd excavate as needed to make room to move around. So that's what they did. They billed it as a two-day job. They showed up on time, and the work was wrapped up by the third hour of the second day. Because that, I was concerned this job had been overbilled. Their bid had been astronomical, but it was still lower than everyone's except the guy with the lapsed bond. Mr. Rooter had been willing to negotiate and I knocked about $650 off their initial bid. They took another $200 off at the back end because of my concern with overbilling. They didn't have to do that since they had a signed contract in hand, but they were willing to take care of a customer. Thumbs up for that. The work looks solid, as far as this layman can tell. Everything drains as it should and none of the joints leak."

Affordable Plumbers questions, answered by experts

In Irvine, address urgent plumbing issues like active leaks, sewage backups, gas odors, or no hot water right away to protect your home and safety. Contaminated water or visible mold also require immediate attention. Minor problems such as slow drains or a single dripping faucet can wait a few days. Schedule routine plumbing maintenance in Irvine ahead of seasonal changes for best results.

Helpful?

In Irvine, watch for persistent low water pressure, mineral buildup on fixtures, or rusty water—these often signal hard water or pipe corrosion. Stains on ceilings, musty odors, or soft spots near plumbing can indicate hidden leaks. After seismic activity, check for new drips or pipe shifts. Unexplained increases in your water bill or outdoor faucet leaks may also suggest a need for Irvine plumbing repair.

Helpful?

After finishing plumbing work in Irvine, run all fixtures to check for leaks and proper drainage, and monitor water pressure. Take photos, save receipts, and update your home maintenance records. Schedule any necessary inspections to ensure compliance with local codes. Test water quality, flush your system, and adjust your water softener if needed. Regularly inspect for leaks and secure your water heater for earthquake safety.

Helpful?

For minor plumbing issues in Irvine, always shut off the main or fixture valve first. Use repair clamps or plumber’s tape for temporary fixes and document any visible damage. Clear clogs with a plunger or snake, avoiding harsh chemicals to protect local plumbing systems. Before digging, check for gas lines, and use GFCI outlets for tools near water. Leave complex issues to Irvine plumbing professionals.

Helpful?

For plumbing maintenance in Irvine, keep essentials like adjustable wrenches, channel-lock pliers, a basin wrench, and a hacksaw. Have a drain snake, toilet auger, and pipe cutter for common repairs. Stock up on Teflon tape, pipe joint compound, plumber’s putty, and PVC cement. Due to Irvine’s hard water, keep descaling solutions and pipe insulation handy, and consider earthquake shut-off tools for added safety.
