She had a plumber lined up in no time ( same day service) and he was over the moon incredible. "Irish and his associate Ryder were very good at communicating, even over a weekend, and although I initially thought the project was an easy drain clearing, 2 other plumbers failed to come up with an appropriate plan. Ryder made every effort to find a cheaper way to solve the problem, and only when those did not work, did he resort to a more complicated solution and at that stage he also worked to help keep our costs down. I appreciated the timeliness, thoughtfulness, and his clear and precise communication which also highlighted how experienced he was with this particular plumbing issue."

"Decided to upgrade my tank-type water heater with high-efficiency tankless. Called USA Plumbing and Dennis said he'd have someone to my place in the morning. The next morning, I received a text letting me know that Chris (the plumber) was on his way. I appreciated having the 30-minute heads-up. When Chris arrived, I showed him my situation and we talked through some adjustments needed such as shortening some existing pipes and where to put the venting for the exhaust air. Chris answered my questions and performed the project in ~5 hours. The end result is that we have a high-efficiency tankless water heater on the wall - and we have a lot more space in the garage. I was able to pay via credit card with Chris' card reader and was sent an "invoice paid" email immediately. The next day, Dennis followed-up with step-by-step instructions on how to submit for a $1,500 (!!!!) rebate with SoCalGas. What an amazing deal - it practically paid for the water heater itself and I just paid labor. Anyway, USA Water Heaters did a great job giving me a quality product and excellent installation. I will be using them for future plumbing needs."

Affordable Plumbers questions, answered by experts

Signs of a leaky faucet include dripping water, unusual noises, and irregular water flow coming from the faucet. Discoloration or water stains around the sink or countertop can also indicate a leak, as can higher than usual water bills and wet areas under and around the sink’s base.

Frost-free faucets should not require outdoor pipe winterization when installed properly. The design of a frost-free spigot ensures that water flows out of the spout instead of sitting inside. Additionally, the shutoff valve for the pipe lives inside your home at the end of a long supply pipe, keeping the waiting water from freezing in outdoor temperatures.

Yes, many people choose to bury their sump pump discharge pipes. When you leave the pipe visible in your yard, you might trip over it or accidentally damage it with your lawn mower. Plus, from an aesthetic perspective, hiding the discharge line underground looks nicer than leaving it out in the open. Before burying a sump pump pipe, review your local building codes to make sure your installation is compliant.

The type of valve that’s best for water shut-off is the ball valve. These are considered by many plumbers to be the most reliable type of valve, and they’re the type most used for main water shut-offs. These valves only require a quarter turn of a handle to open or close fully.

If your sink is on an exterior wall that isn’t insulated, or if pipes travel through a cabinet against an exterior wall that prevents heated air from circulating around the pipes, the pipes can freeze, causing them to burst. The best way to avoid leaking sinks is to insulate the pipes and open cabinets in the short term to warm the water line up and prevent freezing.
