"I highly recommend Plugged In Electric to anyone needing electric work/repair. You can hire them with confidence in a job well done, being on time, and charging a reasonable cost. Plugged In Electric not only met my immediate needs but also made recommendations for future improvements. In addition, I had a sagging electrical line feeding my house. The technician contacted TEP directly to fix this, TEP came out the same day and fixed it. Without the technician's knowledge of who to contact at TEP, I was at loss as to how to get this safety issue that I'd had for 15 years fixed. I didn't even know this is a service TEP provided for free! Cudos to Plugged In Electric."

"Garrett did some work, installed a circuit for an RV I have at my home and also an additional for my wife's charging receptacle for my wife's electric car. The work was good. He came out and he was very busy. The only negative flaw on his company was he does not take card at the time. So I couldn't instantly pay him, I'm currently doing a payment program which he really doesn't like, and I'm getting hit with a fee every month now that I have to drag this payment out. That was largely due to the fact that he does not have a card swipe reader or any kind of mobile payment technology. You have to wait until he sends you a bill. That's the only flaw, his work was really good. I've had no problems  I would probably use him again, and his quote was right on the money pretty much, what he quoted me wasn't above or below, it was right on the money so to speak. but definitely good work. He came out was very friendly, he pretty much had the work done in about half a day because he basically had to do some external work and cut into the exterior of my house to run the pipe through to at least get the pipe routed into the junction box and put the additional breaker on there but all in all I would definitely probably use him again although admittedly I would prefer a provider and anyone who wants to be able to pay either by card or instantaneously would probably want to go to a different provider until he changes that practice of his. I had him put in two receptacles and a circuit breaker, one for an RV and the other was an internal inside my garage for a portable stage two charger for my wife's electric car. It was all one bit of work. He did a very good job. He was very honest and forthright if he couldn't make it. He had to cancel a couple times. I contacted him sometime around April or May and the work wasn't until a little bit later but basically he was very conscious. He was very busy obviously, it was getting close to summer time in Arizona which means a lot of people getting either new air conditioning units and stuff like that which require electrical work and stuff like that so he was very conscious about if he couldn't make an appointment or and discussions he talked to me throughout the work of this is what I'm doing, here's how I'm going, here's how I would prefer to do it. He was willing to take my input so it was very attentive to me as a customer. That's really the biggest flaw, because he doesn't have a portable payment service it makes things a little bit hard. Also his business office, he has someone handle the books separately for billing and stuff like that and then his wife mails out the notices so he doesn't have an extensive office so that can be a little complicated. He's a small business owner and therefore obviously you can't expect him to have someone who sits constantly at a business office and goes okay call this number for billing and stuff like that. You have to wait for the invoice which can be a few weeks if his wife is basically the one doing the billing portion of it and they have children, as a parent with 2 small children I can understand things get busy so it is a small predominately family owned operation. Which means it's subject to those same pressures as well they're a family and kids get sick and have school trips or other stuff like that so it can delay his billing a little bit. The previous gentleman that I contacted quoted me a price at about $900 or so but he preferred that I buy all the circuit breakers and materials. Mr Garrett basically said look I'll provide the appropriate plugs and all of that. Tell me what your needs are and everything and I'll provide my part. He has his own parts so he preferred to use his parts that he sourced which was fine with me, so that did increase the price. So based on what I paid for all of my stuff I would say he was definitely higher than the previous quote but he was also basically willing to stand behind the components that he sourced. I would give him a B for price but it was professional work and there's not enough electricians and I would say it was a little more expensive based on the previous statement and from what I've researched form your site and a couple of other places.Given the work that was done I don't know how he can be any cheaper, but he definitely seemed to be in the ballpark of that kind of work. It wasn't exceptionally low or exceptionally high from my understanding. I've had no problems with the work he's done. As I said previously, he was very quick to communicate with me if there were any issues that was going to delay him getting out here which was a couple times due to emergency work like people with infants needing immediate electrical work to restore air conditioning or stuff like that. So he was always very very quick to communicate with me, and during the work he several times he had me come out to show me the work he was doing asked my permission to make changes that he felt was necessary to make go as smoothly, so he was definitely an A in his communication skills with me as a customer.  Punctuality is a B, but that's largely because of  a schedule he could not control. The day that he actually said he was coming out, he came out on time so I would say an A. I initially said B but not so much, more an A. He was definitely very professional. Highly likely to use again the only difference that I would do is if I were to find someone of the same rating as he that served my local area and took payment by card the day that the service was done. That would be the only discriminator."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

Signs that electrical work in your Vail home may need attention include brittle or cracked wire insulation, rust or corrosion on exterior panels, and loose or warm outlets. Flickering lights, persistent voltage drops, or exposed wiring are also red flags. If you experience frequent electrical interruptions or notice outdated panel components, it’s wise to have a local professional evaluate your system.

Helpful?

Homeowners in Vail are increasingly choosing smart home automation, including programmable lighting and smart irrigation controls. Outdoor living spaces are enhanced with energy-efficient LED landscape lighting, weatherproof patio outlets, and pool automation systems. Many also request generator-ready panels and upgraded garage outlets for hobbies, reflecting a focus on both energy efficiency and lifestyle convenience.

Helpful?

Your Vail home may need electrical upgrades if you notice outdated aluminum wiring, faded or cracked outdoor outlets, or insufficient outdoor power for modern needs. Frequent breaker trips, a lack of surge protection, or original panels in homes built before 2000 are also signs. Homes with limited energy efficiency features or without dedicated circuits for new appliances benefit from updates.

Helpful?

The longevity of electrical work in Vail depends on using heat-resistant wiring, UV-protected outdoor outlets, and weather-sealed enclosures to handle the desert climate. Ensuring all connections are protected from dust and monsoon moisture is crucial. Flexible conduits accommodate temperature swings, while corrosion-resistant hardware prevents premature wear. Adhering to local permit requirements and using high-temperature rated panels further supports a safe, durable electrical system.

Helpful?

New homeowners in Vail should prioritize an electrical panel upgrade if the home is older, followed by a thorough inspection of all outlets and wiring. Installing GFCI outlets in moisture-prone areas, adding whole-house surge protection, and weatherproofing all outdoor outlets are smart first steps. Consider ceiling fan installation and pre-wiring for EV charging to meet both comfort and future needs.
