"We are very pleased with our new kitchen. One of the cabinets needed a complete rebuild after it was installed and they did a wonderful job. We still have some work to be done but I am sure it will be done well. In the past we have also had a bathroom remodel done and were very pleased."

"Carlos, the owner of Desert Stone Landscape, designed, managed, and completed the full landscaping of my backyard, including a stamped concrete patio with a pergola; a lovely area of artificial turf; a wonderful fire pit built on a patio of beautifully laid paver stones; and a retaining wall that incorporated a detailed drainage system and the placement, by hand, of 15 tons of rip-rap rock on the hill behind the wall. The project came in on budget and, excluding holidays and days with significant rain, on time. If you hire Desert Stone Landscape for your project, be it large or small, Carlos and his team will dedicate themselves to transforming your surroundings into something beautiful."

"I first hired Skip to install a new locking mailbox that I had bought. The post needed to be set in concrete and I was concerned that I might make a mistake. He and a helper arrived right on time, worked quickly and finished the job almost before I could get my wallet. He used two magnetic levels and measured for Postal approval height. After that, I called him about a front yard faucet that needed major work. Again they worked quickly and had it taken care of. He also advised me of a possible problem from our truck being driven over the water meter block that is next to the driveway. I'll be careful to avoid it and spare myself the Water Company's services to fix a broken main."

Fountains questions, answered by experts

One of the most important parts of building a pond is digging the right depth. Your pond needs to be at least one to two feet deep. The specifics of the depth will depend on factors such as the placement of the pond and whether you plan on having fish. If you have fish in your pond, it will need to be at least two feet deep.

In addition to length and width, pond liners also come in various thickness levels. Thickness is measured in mils, a unit of measurement equal to one-thousandth of an inch, with most pond liners ranging from 15 to 60 mils in thickness. The smaller the number, the thinner (and weaker) the liner. To prevent rips and tears, it’s best to choose a pond liner that’s at least 30 mils thick.

Natural swimming pools are designed to deter pests, including mosquitoes. While any body of water can potentially attract pests, the natural filtration system keeps the water clean and constantly moving. Mosquitoes specifically are attracted to standing water, so the continuously circulating water in a natural pool makes it an inhospitable environment for them.

Backyard water features can add serenity to your property, drown out neighborhood noise, and serve as a focal point to a stunning landscape design. In some cases, a properly installed and maintained water feature can add to your home’s value. Just be sure to check with your insurance company before installation since some features may affect your premiums.

Yes, natural pools can get algae since they use the same filtration processes as lakes or streams. However, you can reduce the risk of algae by adding more algae-fighting plants and not installing your natural swimming pool in direct sunlight, as it promotes algae growth.
