"On time, did the job quickly. Was not expecting the 'additional fees' they quoted after arriving. Especially when they asked 'did the office tell you about ...?, which they did not. So, quote of $535 turned into $880 after the 'tank opening fee $75', the 'filter cleaning fee $65', the 'wash tank fee $65' and 'extra water fee $140'. Pro tips 1) ask what the added charges will be 2) uncover the tanks yourself 3) spray down the solids tank (hose water) and 4) clean your own filter before contractors arrive, save yourself $345."

"Chris and his crew at Plumber Kings provided exceptional work. From the beginning of the project of installing a new sewer line and clean out, they guided me through the process and gave me piece of mind that the work would be done to my high expectations. With this job they had to dig up a trench and break into the concrete, but his crew not only performed professional quality work, theyâ re craftsman and do things the correct way. There are also not many plumbing companies that can do complete jobs like they didâ putting the front yard back to normal after the dig and doing concrete work to my carport. While working they kept the area clean and were super friendly and knowledgeable when I asked them several questions. They will be the first to call again if I need any plumbing work done."

Customers say: Super punctual

"Utilizing Angie's list to find Coles Excavating was extremely helpful to find a reliable and knowledgeable Contractor. I obtained 3 bids as recommended. Robert Cole answered all my questions and immediately made an appointment to look at our septic tank that needed to be replaced. He recommended a septic tank that was available at Home Depot and we were able to purchase using my military discount saving additional cost. Robert gave us a fair and competative price. He completed the installation and did a good job restoring the desert landscape. From beginning to end Robert communicated with us to ensure we knew each stage of the project. We can highly recommend Robert and his sons for excavation and septic tank installation."

"Dan C. arrived on time and, despite an immovable shelf over the tank, diagnosed the problem. Although he barely had room to reach into the tank, he was able to replace the original gasket, which had all but disintegrated. Problem solved. Dan explained everything he was doing, and despite having to struggle to install the gasket, was patient and affable throughout. Would definitely hire again."

"They are prompt, courteous, honest and reasonable. I needed fill-dirt and decorative rock in my back and side yard. They suggested using dirt from my acre instead of buying dirt from a company. They are cognizant of saving the customer money when they can and I like that in a company. I will definitely use them again and recommend them to others."

"They have been coming out to my house for 20 years. They are a good company. They are prompt, professional, and clean up after themselves. Their price is okay, but worth it. They are knowledgeable. It took them about five hours. It was complicated because the lid fell apart and they had to bring it up from the septic tank, which was ugly. They cleaned up completely."

Septic Tanks questions, answered by experts

There are a few signs that indicate a failing drain field. For instance, if your septic tank starts requiring more pumping than normal, your drain field might be failing. Other signs to watch for include poor drainage after rain, standing water or sewage over the septic system, a strong septic smell outside, new and healthy grass growing over the drain field, and plumbing backups in your sinks, bathtubs, or toilets.

A household of four can easily fill a 1,000-gallon septic tank within a week. It may be 10 to 14 days for smaller households. But the reason why you don't need weekly pumping is because the tank's contents eventually reach the overflow pipe. They flow down this pipe to the absorption area whenever water is used in your home. The tank keeps working at this full level until it's pumped again.

A new water well pressure tank costs $300 to $500. If you choose to hire a plumber for the job, expect labor to cost $125 to $200. If the tank is difficult to access, labor will cost more. Diaphragm and bladder well pressure tanks have similar costs. One-compartment well pressure tanks are less costly, but they have a higher chance of waterlogging. Larger pressure tanks cost more and hold more water, but they don’t increase water pressure.

The average three to four-bedroom home typically uses a well pump rated for 8 to 12 gallons per minute (GPM). To find the most accurate size for your specific needs, a common rule of thumb is to count the number of water fixtures and appliances in your home and aim for that number in GPM. This calculation allows for about one gallon of water per minute per fixture. Because estimating the correct size can be challenging, it's best to have a professional technician make the final determination. A professional can ensure your pump provides sufficient water for your home, especially during peak usage hours.

If you notice that your well pump runs continuously, it’s important to take action quickly to avoid further damage. A few common issues may be to blame for a continuously running well pump, such as mechanical damage, a faulty pressure control switch, low water level, prime loss, and leaking pipes and fixtures.
