"Andy Grandillas came highly recommended to me through an individual in the business. . There are so many good things to say about Andy: his professionalism, his experience, his timeliness, knowledge of his craft and his easy going demeanor speak volumes. He promptly responded to my request for an estimate, and was thorough in his explanation of the project and costs from beginning to end. Any changes or modifications were discussed thoroughly, and I was kept advised as to all progress to completion. I would not hesitate to utilize the services of Andy Grandillas in the future. I highly recommend Andy to anyone who is in need of a quality, professional tile installation."

"Cesar and I set the date for work to begin and as promised his workers were here to prep the room and get everything ready for the tile to be lain and the stack stone to be put in.  Putting in a tile floor in from my limited knowledge seemed to take the correct time to complete with the cleaning, placing, gluing, spacing, cutting and then grouting.  I am more than just pleased with the result.
The stack stone project took the better part of a week to complete.  Armando very methodically placed the stones on one of my living room walls perfectly.  He then began to use the same stone , though cut smaller to envelop the beehive fire place and he found matching tiles for the hearth.  Friends have already stopped by to see his work and cab't believe how excellently the work had been done.
I have a few other projects which I will be needing tile and stack stone work done.  I would not hesitate in calling Rocky's.

"Lou Aldrich is one of the best contractors we have worked with. His price was fair, the quality of his work was excellent, he was courteous, responsive, and very accommodating. Above all, Lou is an excellent communicator, quick to respond to questions, clear about his services and his work flow. His team of workers were equally fine and well managed by Lou, who was always coming over to keep tabs on things. We are thoroughly satisfied with the work and with the whole tile installation experience."

"We recently had Granite Kitchen and Bath replace our kitchen counter tops. We had a wonderful experience and will use them again when we update our bathrooms. After we went to their showroom and picked out our material, Mike came to our house that same afternoon and did the template. In less than two weeks we had the install. The installers showed up on time and did a beautiful job. They had to seam the material in two places, but I challenge anyone to find the seams; that's how good of a job they did. The following morning their plumber showed up on time and reconnected the kitchen faucet. We are thrilled with the end result and highly recommend Granite Kitchen and Bath!!"

Ceramic Tile questions, answered by experts

On average, tiling a shower costs between $1,800 and $5,000, with most people paying around $2,700. The price of this project depends on multiple factors, including the kind of tile you choose, the size of your shower, and labor rates in your area. If you decide to tile your own shower (instead of hiring a professional), it’ll likely cost $800 to $1,400.

When choosing between porcelain and ceramic tile, the best option depends on your specific needs, budget, and project application. Porcelain tile is generally more durable, denser, and harder than ceramic, making it a good choice for busy, high-traffic areas. It also offers superior moisture resistance, making it ideal for moisture-retaining spaces. However, porcelain is typically more expensive, and its hardness can make it brittle, potentially causing it to crack if a heavy object is dropped on it. In contrast, ceramic tile is a more budget-friendly option with lower material and installation costs. It is softer and easier to work with, making it a great choice for DIY projects. While not as durable as porcelain, ceramic is still a quality material suitable for many home applications, particularly small, decorative projects.

Options include clay, concrete, and slate tiles. Each offers unique durability, aesthetics, and costs.

If you’re out of spacers for your tile installation, you can use pennies. Each time you place a tile, stick the pennies around the edges (on the sides and the corners). Like working with spacers, you’ll want the same amount of space around each tile before they set.

If the hearth ends against a wall, you can use a tile cutter as you normally would. However, if the edge of your hearth ends with no surface pressing against it,you may want to look into rounded tiles. These give a smooth edge to your hearth and make sure cut edges aren’t visible. You can also see if the tile you have has pieces that have been glazed or rounded on one edge. You’d then cut the tile and place it normally, with the cut edge facing inward.
