"Great from start. Arnold is great to deal with in salesroom. Roland measured & explained how the job would be done, Jamie laid the floor and baseboard. Done in 2 days. Jamie really talented and kept me updated via text throughout process. Baseboards are especially nice. He does beautiful rounded corners. Very custom looking. Love the Vinyl Plank Floors from Shaw."

"We dealt with Jim at Regal Bath & Kitchen in remodeling our master bath. The tub was removed and a walk-in shower was designed. Granite was used on the shower benches and around the vanity sinks. The sink faucets were wall mounted. The couple who did the tile work were perfectionists and tiled a medallion in the entry to the shower. The kitchen back splash was tiled also. Jim had every detail under control and the remodel went very smooth. It was a pleasure dealing & working with Jim, a real professional, and we highly recommend Regal."

"Excellent. Hiring Danny was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I had someone else install a 5 foot sliding glass door and it was a nightmare. Danny fixed the door for a good price. I couldn’t be happier with my new door. He also fixed the door on the side of the house and didn’t even tell me. Said it was part of the prepping process. I’m going to put in new kitchen countertops next, and you can believe me, I will be calling Danny."

"I can't say enough positive things about Mercury Pool and the people who work there.  They completely redid my pool in 2005 and added a magnificent stone fountain which was beautiful.  I called them this year (2015) to sand a couple spots on the pool bottom where chlorine tablets had sat and darkened the pool surface.  When Mercury Pool started to sand the pool, their workers discovered that there was a problem with the quartz that was previously poured.  It was not holding up properly to the sanding.  Thus Mercury Pool stood behind their work and completely redid the pool surface with an improved product.  They also replaced the tile and refinished the surface around the pool as they were all affected by the removal of the old plaster.
I do not know of any other business that stands behind their product and workmanship to this degree!
Because everything was being redone, I also asked them to lower the filter in the pool a couple inches so I could adjust the water level in the pool as desired.  They found that the current filter was cracked and needed to be replaced.  I also had them replace the handrail because one end of the old handrail was attached to a step  in the water and litter always hung on that rail.  I had them replace it with a rail where both ends are attached outside the pool removing that litter problem.  The end product is beautiful. I was only charged for replacing the rail and the cracked filter.
Again, what business stands behind their work to this degree?!?   Mercury Pool is incredible.

Ceramic Tile questions, answered by experts

When cleaning porcelain tiles, avoid products that contain ammonia, bleach, and other harsh chemicals. Acid-based cleansers can damage the tile, though you can clean them with a diluted mixture of one-quarter cup white vinegar mixed with one gallon of hot water. It is important always to use a soft-bristled brush or sponge, since hard bristles and steel wool can scratch the tile.

The number of shower niches you need (or want) depends on the size of the shower and how many bathroom products you plan on storing. If you keep it simple with just soap and shampoo, the one shower niche will probably do the trick. But if you’re adding scrubs and soaks, you may need to think about installing two or more.

Your tiles will have a significant visual impact on your bathroom, so you’ll want to make a thoughtful decision. Once you land on the tile material that suits your needs and budget, you can consider the color schemes you want. Consider whether you want something modern, classic, or eye-catching.

On average, tiling a shower costs between $1,800 and $5,000, with most people paying around $2,700. The price of this project depends on multiple factors, including the kind of tile you choose, the size of your shower, and labor rates in your area. If you decide to tile your own shower (instead of hiring a professional), it’ll likely cost $800 to $1,400.

There are no unbreakable rules of design, but experts recommend against using large tiles in areas with poor subflooring where they’re more prone to cracking, in areas where the floor isn’t entirely level, over raised areas or dips, and in bathrooms where budget is the primary concern. The size of your bathroom shouldn’t be a reason not to use large tiles; in fact, larger tiles, also known as slab tiles, can be a modern and sleek choice for bathroom floors and walls.
