"I needed to have our patio screened quickly, and they came next day. The enclosure exceeded my expectations. The men were professional, meticulous and cleaned up after all was done. I would not hesitate to call on them should we need anything else done."

"Jeff did a great job on building our stand alone garage. It matches the house perfectly and is the nicest in the neighborhood. He is professional, skilled, efficient and easy to get along with and plans ahead. He also remodeled two bathrooms to our great satisfaction. We will have him do other work for us in the future."

Customers say: Quality work

"If I could give Gilligan remodeling ten stars or more I would. Neil, the owner of the company goes out of his way to provide qualitt customer service. He accompanied us to pick out our tile & counter tops, providing us with feedback on what we might like. He was also able to get us a discounted price on these items, making our remodel all that much affordable. The quality of his work is impeccable, he arrives on time, works a full day & cleans up after himself. Gilligan remodeling absolutely is the best company in Tuscon, if you want quality work at an affordable price, you found it."

"Mo Custom Wood & Remodeling was very responsive and cooperative throughout the project. Being new to Tucson I was concerned about finding reputable contractors but now I have a "Go To" company. I would highly recommend Mo Custom Wood & Remodeling. They not only do fencing but many other upgrades and remodel work. Check them out!"

"Excellent work. We purchased natural cherry cabinets in shaker style, with the panels made of solid wood rather than veneer. That is more difficult work, as each panel has to be constructed from several planks. Moreover, the clear finish would leave any flaws more visible. Simply put, the doors are beautiful--flawless in both construction and finish. They are similar in quality to custom cherry furniture we own."

"The move went very, very well. Joseph at Strong Brothers kept me informed, gave me a detailed quote, explained the cost, and was very professional. He arranged for very responsible teams to load and unload the truck. Everything arrived just fine - no breakages because Joseph made sure everything was well protected. Joseph kept me informed before and during the several day move. I highly recommend Strong Brothers Moving."

Closets questions, answered by experts

Different types of closets are defined mostly by size. A few different types of closets include:

  • A reach-in closet is a smaller closet that you can stand in front of and reach everything inside it. Aside from the size, the doors and the level of drywall finish are typically the largest price factors.

  • A walk-in closet can be anything from a small 5-by-5 feet closet that has a narrow walkway with shelves on both sides to a 100 square foot bedroom-sized closet with shelving along the walls and plenty of room to move around in.

  • A built-in wardrobe often does not have a door and leaves the clothes and other contents open to the room, whereas a closet usually has a door to separate it from the rest of the room.

Hanging and folding clothes are efficient ways to pack your clothes during a move. When choosing a packing method, consider the type of clothing you’re packing. For example, clothing such as dresses, suits, blouses, and items made of silk and similar fabrics are ideal for hangers. On the other hand, it’s easier to fold pants, shorts, t-shirts, thick sweaters, and more.

You may need a building permit to add a closet, depending on the size and kind of work required to install it. The most likely scenario requiring a permit involves changing the structure of the house and performing electrical work for closet lighting. A permit can cost between $100 and $450. If you’re installing a smaller reach-in closet, a permit may not be required, but always check with your local municipality and consult a closet designer or builder.

Most packing services take 4-12 hours, while unpacking may take 1-2 days, depending on volume.

Yes, 12-inch shelves are often considered the standard closet shelf depth for storing folded clothing, shoes, and small containers. However, if you plan to store bulky items such as blankets, baskets, or cleaning supplies, you may want to go deeper. For specialized layouts, an adjustable system can give you more flexibility.
