"I hate being condescended to. Listen to what I want and then give suggestions on how I might be able to work that out in my kitchen. Don't just tell me it can't be done. I felt like I was wasting my time. I asked about a particular type of closet (not realizing it was part of a bigger cabinet...how would I know) and she told me to follow her (using her finger to me like a child) and said I couldn't have it because it was as part of a bigger piece. She could have just said that. I said if I can't make my kitchen more "usable" (less wasted space), WHY to with custom cabinets. I could just reface. The woman behind me who was waiting to ask her a question said. Listen, if you can't get what you want, I don't blame you for not spending the money. It's easy to reface. So, I called another company and, low and behold, I'm getting partial refacing and partial custom cabinets. He came and we discussed HOW I could get my carousel cabinet (uh - he suggested I go from a double to a single sink - easy peasy) AND, he came in at half the price your website suggested I might pay. It is really nice to be listened to...especially when it's MY money I'm spending."

"We are very pleased and satisfied with the cabinets and service. We shopped for cabinets while on our house hunting trip in November and compared three cabinet companies. We chose Triton because of the quality, very clean and modern manufacturing facility, responsiveness of quote and the personality of the people we met at the company. The cabinets were ordered during our househunting trip and were installed the day after we moved in. The installation was performed professionally and the installers were very courteous, neat and cleaned up after the job was complete.
We are so pleased with the product and installation that we decided to get a quote for additional garage cabinets as well as interior closet systems.

"We interviewed multiple companies to tackle our bathroom and bedroom renovation. The project would entail enlarging a 7x6 bathroom, large reach in closet with full mirrored sliding door and extra-large bedroom. Our end goal was to utilize every square inch of this space and have a workable inviting area to call our master bath/bedroom retreat. After much consideration and research we hired Regal Bath and Kitchens as Doug the sales man was easy to work with and listened to what we were desiring. He not only listened to us but gave us his honest feedback and was able to make our new living space inviting. We came into this project with what we wanted and Doug made it possible, giving us ideas that worked for us and our budget. During the first phase of the project we met James, the man that can do it all. I felt very confident that he would take care of our needs, he even became friendly with our 3 dogs! While the project was in James’s hands we felt very comfortable knowing that he would keep us in the loop of what to expect and what was next. The whole process took about 9 weeks, only a week after what was expected due to issues getting materials. Overall we could not be more pleased with Regal Bath and Kitchens, they met our expectations and even more! We would highly recommend hiring them, they don’t disappoint!"

"Extremely well, and amazingly beautiful! Professional, courteous, congenial staff and installers."

Building a custom closet costs about $2,000, on average. Because many types, sizes, and designs are available, the cost to build custom closets ranges from $250 to $6,000 or more. A reach-in closet is on the lower end of the price range from about $250 to $1,500, compared to a walk-in closet at $750 to $3,500 or a wardrobe at the high end between $1,500 and $6,000 or more.
The main difference between a closet and a wardrobe is that a closet is a separate room for general storage with its own door, and a wardrobe can be either built-in or freestanding place to store clothing. A walk-in or reach-in closet connected to a bedroom often serves the same purpose as a wardrobe by primarily storing clothes and shoes. A built-in wardrobe often does not have doors and leaves clothes exposed to view, whereas a standalone wardrobe usually has doors.
You may need a building permit to add a closet, depending on the size and kind of work required to install it. The most likely scenario requiring a permit involves changing the structure of the house and performing electrical work for closet lighting. A permit can cost between $100 and $450. If you’re installing a smaller reach-in closet, a permit may not be required, but always check with your local municipality and consult a closet designer or builder.
Different types of closets are defined mostly by size. A few different types of closets include:
A reach-in closet is a smaller closet that you can stand in front of and reach everything inside it. Aside from the size, the doors and the level of drywall finish are typically the largest price factors.
A walk-in closet can be anything from a small 5-by-5 feet closet that has a narrow walkway with shelves on both sides to a 100 square foot bedroom-sized closet with shelving along the walls and plenty of room to move around in.
A built-in wardrobe often does not have a door and leaves the clothes and other contents open to the room, whereas a closet usually has a door to separate it from the rest of the room.
Yes, building a custom closet can definitely add value to your home. Creating a more useful and pleasing space to your home, especially a custom closet for prospective home buyers to imagine as their own, is likely to increase the value. However, avoid overdoing it with a closet that takes up too much space that’s otherwise more useful as living space, or paying extra for overly lavish materials and finishes that aren’t likely to add more value than they cost.
