"I was able to locate a small piece of quartz for my project but it needed one length cut and two edges finished, then installed. I inquired a number of companies. Christian Brothers made a reasonable offer and could pick up the quartz the next day, finish it and install a day later. The company is family run and the two sons did the install... polite and quick and cleaned up. Very satisfied with the company and will be recommending them to my other HOA homeowners."

Small jobs welcome

"The Grout Brothers were called in when the installation of our new tile floor had to be acid washed due to excessive grout remaining on the tile surface after installation. The acid wash turned the grout to grey and we had specified Earth, a brown color. They came in and stained and sealed the grout back to the Earth color and the results were amazing. The work they completed on our new floors was so good that we hired them to stain and seal our bathroom floor and seal our shower. This floor was extremely dirty and the grout was a dark, almost black color. The results were again amazing. The bathroom floor picture, with the small glass tile trim, shows the results. The Grout Brothers were professional, on time, very clean, and did an amazing job. The results exceeded our expectations. We can highly recommend their services."

"They did a good job and the bathroom turned out really nice. John Reynolds was a very good craftsman who did most of the work except the shower tile. They charged a reasonable price for doing the work and did it fairly quickly. The only issues I had were with some shortage of communication. Allen asked me to pick out a grout color which I did and emailed to him. A day or so later the tile guy was texting me asking what the grout color was. In the end it appears they actually used a little bit darker grout than what I said. The tile looks good though so its not a huge deal. There was also calls to me about getting access to the place even though they already had a key to access it. One of the things on the proposal was to try blending the drywall texture in some areas that had items removed during demo. This info was not conveyed to John R., so it was something that had to be done at the last minute. They were also replacing a light fixture, but they didn't ask if I wanted to have the outline of the old fixture blended/textured on the drywall. I didn't want to wait anymore days for them to come back so I did it myself. It would be nice to have been made aware they would saw things in the living room, so I could at least cover up the TV equipment to protect it from dust. Also the tile guy seemed to only have one drop cloth to protect the wood floors, which maybe covered half the distance of pathway that had a lot of traffic. So I bought some of my own to get some proper protection on the floors. If you are going to be watching them the whole time you are working then it would cut down on some of these communication items, but I was not able to be there all the time. In the end though I am happy with my bathroom remodel."

Backsplash Installation questions, answered by experts

Taking the time to properly prepare your tile backsplash before painting and treating it with care afterward is the best way to ensure its longevity. While the tile can last for the life of the home, you may have to repaint it after a few years. However, using only mild cleanser and water to keep it clean can maximize the paint's lifespan.

Regardless of the material, basic square tiles will never go out of style. Neutral colors like white, grey, beige, and black will always be in demand in residential and commercial settings. Certain designs, like herringbone and hexagonal patterns, are considered timeless. Porcelain and porcelain-like tiles will also never go out of style.

Yes, even if you’re being careful, removing tile can damage your drywall to some degree. However, you can minimize the damage done to it by eliminating a majority of the grout and taking your time prying each tile off. Also, it's worth noting that you might have more drywall damages to deal with if your tile is set into the mortar.

One major drawback of a concrete tile roof is that the material is heavier than most other roofing materials, so there’s a good chance you’ll need structural reinforcements for your home before you can install the roofing material. Concrete tile roofs are also twice as expensive as asphalt shingle roofs, so even though they last much longer, you’ll see higher up-front costs and lower overall value from concrete roof tiles.

Whether you use a brush or roller depends on the size, shape, and amount of tiles. Rollers are easier to maneuver over large areas and can apply a more even coat of paint in a shorter time frame with no visible brushstrokes. Brushes are best for precision work, particularly in very small areas. If you don't want visible brushstrokes on your painted tiles, you can paint details with small foam brushes instead of bristled paint brushes.
