Most cabinets need two to three coats of paint, though the exact number depends on several factors. Use one or two coats of primer and one to three coats of paint. Either option is cheaper and easier than installing entirely new cabinets.

Occasional cleaning with non-abrasive cloths, avoiding excessive moisture, and refinishing touch-ups prolong cabinet life and visual appeal magnified over usage.

Yes, you can and likely should mix knobs and pulls on different cabinets in your kitchen. Typically, pulls are helpful on cabinets at high levels and knobs are great for lower cabinets, but it’s all up to preference. Just be sure to keep the finish consistent between knobs and pulls for a stylish and cohesive look.
