"This was a painless and educational experience. Mark Garcia and his helper were here when he said they would be, set right to work but kept me informed throughout. He originally said a two day job, windows one day and screens the next. When one window wasn't quite right he took it back to the shop to re-do it but also did the screens and returned about an hour later and completed the whole job in one day. This Company is a keeper."

"Greco Roman was about half the cost of other quotes we got. They were very professional and responded promptly to all questions we had throughout the process. The installation crew was very efficient, despite some damage to one window sill that needed repainting. The installation was completed within the time frame projected."

"Ended up costing more than twice the "special". However, the quality of the work was excellent. Our guy took his time and did everything correctly. Windows and sun screens have never looked as good."

"After several scheduling delays on our part (communication with Window Hero was great), we finally had our windows cleaned (inside and out) this morning. Brian and Vincent were on-time and friendly. They were focused on doing a great job and that they did. We are very pleased with the service they provided and would definitely use them again. We will be recommending them to our son and friends."

Windows questions, answered by experts

In addition to protecting your home from costly storm damage, storm windows increase your home's value if you live in an area that’s prone to severe weather. Storm windows offer about an 80% return on investment (ROI). Therefore, if you install $10,000 worth of storm windows, you can expect to get around $8,000 back if you sell your home within a few years of installation. Additionally, highly hurricane-prone areas, like the Florida coast, offer even higher returns, with ROIs on storm windows reaching up to 86%.

Casement windows are more expensive than some other window types, such as single-hung or double-hung windows. However, casement windows are not the most expensive type of window. Bow and bay window costs tend to be the highest, because they involve multiple large windows that jut out from the exterior of the home.

Garden windows last about 15 to 30 years, depending on the materials, ongoing maintenance, and local climate. Fiberglass and wood windows tend to have the longest life spans as long as you keep up with cleaning, lubricating, and refinishing them. Make sure to inspect your windows about once a year for signs of trouble, like worn-out seals, frame damage, or cracks in the panes.

The biggest disadvantages of low-E windows have to do with cost and, depending on your personal taste, appearance. Low-E windows cost more than traditional windows—typically between $300 and $1,000 per window, plus installation costs. Though they can save you money in the long run, low-E windows have a hefty upfront price tag. Additionally, low-E windows have a slightly different look than traditional windows. While some people don’t notice it, others say the low-E coating gives windows a hazy look.

The primary benefits of an egress window include providing a safe emergency exit, increasing natural light in a space like a basement, and improving ventilation. Additionally, installing an egress window can often increase your property's value.
